There's no stability issue, that guy is just trolling. Kreo and Oxford have great quality and a fair price, and the figures are awesome. The only problem is that Hasbro HAS to shoot itself in the foot, they can't keep on delivering a good product for so long.

I still have the Kre-o TD MISB, I wasn't aware it had some qc issues.

Pretty minor QC issues. Nothing on the scale that would cause someone to go off on the product like that one guy just did. Is it Lego-quality? No. Could it benefit from having a base piece to snap the foundation onto? Probably. But is the set a travesty as a result? Does the entire set flop on one or two issues? Not at all. You may have to spend a little more time and strength being extra diligent to snap together certain pieces and reinforce the connection throughout your build, but frankly, the Terrordrome is a FANTASTIC set and I easily look past the flaws.

For me, right behind the ARAH line of the 80's. I was actively chasing these for the roughly two years available whereas the 30th, etc... lines were a "pick and choose" of what I wanted.
I am selling off all of my Kreos but the Joe sets. ST, TF, Cityville, all going out the door but I have a rubbermaid(+) full of Joes sets. The last Joe item I actually bought as the Slaughter set.

I loved the kreo line and would continue to collect them in a heartbeat if they brought it back.

I loved the line. Have all the figures and work on customs occasionally. Built a 3 foot long Flagg and I'm planning on a WHALE and Moray. Hasbro dropped the ball with the first series though. Series 2? Oh, baby did they get it together. If 2 had been the first out? It would possibly still be around today. Kreo's stability issues are easily solved by anyone with an ounce of building experience, but the material the blocks themselves are made out of is a lesser quality than LEGO.

KREO is a perfect example of Hasbro jumping into a new market and messing up a good opportunity. I was really behind the JOE Kreo line and bought all the sets and the SDCC exclusive Sgt. Slaughter. Unfortunately, Hasbro blew it with the building block market, and they quietly killed off the entire product line.Hasbro never even bothered to release the D&D Kreo wave 2 of figures here in the U.S.
Lego is still making a killing in this area, and Mattel did a good job by buying Megabloks and producing great sets of TMNT, Call of Duty, HALO, and hopefully He-Man. |
