Now that it has slowly sunk in that the line is over, how much of a special place in your heart does the line have? Where would you rank it on your all time Joe lines? I think the line went a LOT further than I ever expected it to and wished it kept going. Some of those last waves were awesome and delivered characters I never thought we would get. Your thoughts?

I loved the Kre-O sets and figures. I just wish they had been more plentiful. I lucked out and found some sets on Amazon at a good price when TRU wasn't restocking them. They had great detail in the figures and provided some good baselines for customs people have created. The one thing I didn't like was the lack of bulk to the builds. They skimped on pieces to make things sturdy. This was common across all Kre-O as I have a USS Enterprise that has structural issues similar to the Terrordome.
I'd rank it right after the 1:18 Figures. |

In my heart? It totally replaced the modern era figures, to the point where I'm actually considering selling stuff. I know it will never replace the original ARAHs that I had, but it is a close second. The best thing is that they are in Transformers G1 scale (kind of) so finally I can do GIJOE vs Transformers stuff.

I am a big fan of Kre-o, there were many great figures made, I came in during series 2 of the blind packs, so missed out on certain characters, but I felt they were doing justice to the original series. I wish they had released more vehicles, to many early sets were just re packaged sets from the battleship line, once they started producing original sets such as the Terrordrome they came into their own, yeah there were issues with the Terrordrome, not enough effort was made I think into making it sturdier but I liked the look.
It would be nice to see a new attempt made, I would rank it #2 right after the 3 3/4" series.

Anyone who has seen even some of my posts must know, Kreo has been my way of rekindling my joe collecting. I am not fluid enough to be able to afford the ARAH or ME lines, but Kreo was a perfect fit for me budget, and space-wise.

Kre-o is incredibly special to me. I LOVE the stuff that I have and would love to be able to add to it. It was very obvious that the people they had working on it had a real familiarity with the brand (Frozen Fudgee bar with Quick Kick?!) and understood the franchise and its mythos and origins and everything that made it great. They dumped all of that knowledge and I think poured their hearts into producing a product that would connect with long-time collectors. And that SDCC Slaughter's Marauders set was INCREDIBLE.
It's a real shame that the line has not continued to this point, but Depriest (was it Depriest?) said when he first took over the G.I.Joe segment at Hasbro that Kre-o was near and dear to him, as well, and he would like to see it continue and that they were working on plans for it. Having said that, that was probably 2-3 years ago, right? And nothing has come along. Also, when you look at Kre-o as the whole and not just 'Joe Kre-o, it looks like Hasbro is really beginning to back away from the interlocking brick toy sector altogether, as I haven't seen anything fresh and new from Kre-o on shelves in just as long. Pity. I can't imagine that their product didn't sell well. It appeared to me, anyway, that product sold through pretty well. Transformers had a longer run than Joe did, and for that I am jealous. Still, I hope it pops up again in the near future and surprises us all. I would LOVE to see a Devil Fish, Tomahawk, and perhaps a Cobra Moray sometime.

I bought everything, never having any Lego's to compare them to. I thought they were cool at first but after buying some Lego's realized how terrible they were. The plastic is horrible and they fall apart easily. And let's not mention the Terror Drome with its top shell that doesn't fall apart because it doesnt even lock together to begin with.
Kreos are pure garbage. |

KRE-O G.I. Joe was pure awesome!! It arrived at the exact perfect time when my kids were already into Lego, and getting heavily into G.I. Joe. I bought multiples of everything - they were a blast. I hope Hasbro makes more, so I can buy them ALL for my nephews!
I'd put it second all-time behind the original 3.75 line. Ahead of modern era because of playabilty, (lots of 25th don't fit in vehicles, you can build literally anything you want provided you've got a supply of Lego), the scale is very manageable, and getting all those characters in Kreon form was just priceless! |

I am surprised to hear about stability issues with these, but then my Kre-os were just put together and set on display. I have all the Joe sets including the convention exclusives, and I have a figure I believe was cancelled but I don't have any information on it (hooded CC if anyone knows the story behind it, please share). Honestly I prefer the 4" line, but I was impressed with the design and quality of these and was sad to see them discontinued. Maybe if GI Joe in general becomes more popular in the future (which is possible considering the political climate is changing), these will be revised. I would love to see a Kre-o Nightraven and Mauler!
