So I'm not sure exactly where I should post this, but just wanted to get some things off my chest.
I had missed my window to pre-order the Hasbro Pulse exclusive Snake Eyes figure, because I was in the process of moving and wanted to try to keep as much credit available as I could. After I got moved in, I looked online and saw two different vendors offering him. IIRC one was EE and the other was beststorev.com. I saw that the second option was a few dollars cheaper, and accepted Paypal, so I ordered two. One for me, and one for a lifelong friend (who is also a Joe fan). I waited for over a month, and then my package came: It consisted of two 12" Snake Eyes figures from the 2009 movie. I tried to contact them via email, but kept coming back undeliverable. I decided to start a dispute claim through Paypal. The seller: Dongguan Shunfa Logistics Co., Ltd finally responded that they would offer me a 10% refund, and for me to keep the incorrect items. I explained this looked to be a bait-and-switch, and that I would not accept their minuscule offer. After that, they made a "one-time" offer of 20% refund. I have also refused that, and stated that I expect a full refund, and they can send a return box and label for the incorrect items, as I did nothing wrong except trust what seemed to be a reputable online retailer. :( Still waiting on a determination from Paypal Quote:
-Paypal states I must return the items to the seller. The original address said they came from Cali. The return address is in China! I explained that there is a difference and Paypal says that the seller lists the return address. -Paypal return shipping reimbursements states they will offer up to $30 back from the shipping. The shipping to China will be $43! -I got back online with them again (3rd time) and kept stating that the seller should be responsible for all this, but the best they can do is issue me an additional $13 credit to cover the additional shipping. -They have me over a barrel, so I can either pay to send the wrong items back, or accept the loss. Wow. -Bear in mind, the seller never offered to send me the correct items...seems they never had them in the first place! -If this had happened on eBay, the seller would most likely have to pay those shipping fees as well. Soooo frustrated at Paypal's "Buyer Protection" |

Jesus fuck! Who is beststorev.com? Is there any black list we can put this on? I've been fucked over a few times (some people take advantage if you live overseas) but this is infuriating!

So here we are in 2020, and I've been working and doing the move down to Georgia since June of '19. It has been pretty challenging at times, but have been able to secure work in a different field now...well at least until this virus shut the world down!
This down time has enabled me some time to start setting up my man-cave/office/tool/toy room. I have set up a couple shelving units, and have been slowly unpacking my builds and kreons. If anyone is interested, I may snap some pics to throw up of what I have so far. In the meantime, I found my box of extra Oxford/Kreo dark olive green pieces, and decided to try to redesign my HAL, to be closer to geewunner's awesome build! So here's my HAL, VAMP, and MMS all done in colors that I feel are closer to the original toys. lMK what you all think! (I mean, ya'll lol) |

A further update to my Paypal situation. They have denied my claim and closed the case, claiming I did not return the item with tracking. The postal worker told me I should only need the customs number, so I'm at a loss. But to get the whole picture, I'm out the $75.98 from the seller sending me deliberate incorrect items. I am also out the additional $43 for sending the incorrect items back! So the seller gets his items back, and I get the shaft. Thanks alot Paypal

Filed a complaint against Paypal with the BBB. Also will file a scam alert for Dongguan Shunfa Logistics Co, LTD. Since the seller will get his incorrect items back, I want to try to make sure no one else gets scammed by them again.

I keep forgetting to post my last update for the 6" SE figure scam. Since I filed a complaint with the BBB against Paypal, they have granted me a full refund. It took about another month, but thankfully they made it right!
So I guess the moral of the story is: If you get scammed by someone offering Paypal as their payment; First try to sort it out with the seller, then Paypal, and then if all else fails, file against Paypal with the BBB. I guess they have to do so many refunds vs filed complaints, to keep their BBB "A" rating ;) |

Slim are you still building stuff? I just moved to Fredericksburg and as I was unpacking found all my stuff in the boxes from the move before the last move. I unpacked them but have not put anything back together.

During the 6 month shutdown I worked on a project that I have been waiting to have enough time to post up. Since starting back to work, it's been all-out to get caught up.

Just a shout out to see if people still check on these threads at all?
I see some of my shared files being downloaded, even to this day! It's pretty cool, seeing people still enjoying files shared over the years. Things have been still up and down for me. Tornado wiped out our house and a car in January; and film work dried-up right around the same time. So that has not been ideal, but we are alive and making the best of it in a new town. We lost so many things in the disaster; but my office (with display shelves) was fairly intact. I was able to salvage just about all my creations between the ceilings coming down. Friends came with totes and helped me clear out everything we could salvage. It's been months of working down multiple storage lockers, to finally be able get all my work tools and stuff together; but finally making progress. The main problem has been motivation, and making sure I am 'the rock' she has needed. Anyway, we are alive and doing well now ;) So how has everyone else been doing? |
