Here's something: While it was a precarious fit, my Tomahawk can actually land on Geewunner's TTBP! Last edited by stealthy slim; 11-21-2017 at 04:36 AM.. |

Yes, that's precarious for sure. Lucky Lift Ticket is so good at landings ;)
Your Tomahawk is much smaller than mine, and it strike me yours is truer to the scale of the original. |

Hey thanks Stormgard! I wanted to make clear though, that the overall design of this actually started from ChadGhost's Tomahawk contest submission. His awesome version was unfortunately unable to be physically made, because quite a bit of the pieces were not available in the prescribed colors. I pretty much remade his design in more readily available pieces. I also went with the tan/dk bluish grey color scheme that was talked about in that same contest thread.
My own contest submission version utilized the same windscreen setup, but was a bit longer and taller than Chad's. I had some arch pieces and engine turbines that I had wanted to keep in the design; so that's kind of how mine worked out. Never did make mine irl, since Chad's was such a perfect fit scale-wise to the other Hasbro designed Kreo Joe vehicles. And even though we never did get a Lift Ticket kreon, I figured we might still see a Geewunner release eventually (and just think if he did Night Raven!? Might break the internet) Last edited by stealthy slim; 11-29-2017 at 09:54 PM.. |

I think that canopy is perfect shapewise - it is a real shame it isn't 8 studs wide (or even 7) - it was important for me to fit two figs side by side in the cockpit of my Tomahawk, which kind of dictated the size it ended up being. It took ages to find a cockpit solution I was happy enough with - when it comes to Lego there are so many compromises between scale, functionality, playability, and aesthetics. Of course, that's part of the challenge and what makes it fun. Hasbro's original G.I.Joe toys of course have their own chibi scale issues of course - they often end up with the opposite problem.

you could always give imgur.com a shot for photo storage, or photos.google.com?

I have just recently been going through some of the many lxf files I've downloaded from mocpages over the past few years; and came across this awesome mini build from Stephen Fender:
Mini GI Joe: Cobra Night Raven: A LEGO® creation by Stephen Fender : MOCpages.com He has so very graciously, added a link to the LDD (lxf) file on his page, so I've proceeded to load it up in LDD and then set off to build it! I've had to make a couple of concessions already because of part availability, but I feel it's still turning out fairly close to the original design. Here's Stephen's stock mocpages pic: Mini Cobra Night Raven Original Okay here's Mine: I've added some more flat tiles, to give (what I believe is) a more finished-off look I've added some kibble to the original, to emulate things like: landing gear, bombs, and those weird rear wing missile-things. Nose down And one shot of The Raven next to one of my mini F15's to show some size comparison When I saw the original ldd stock pic, it left me somehow underwhelmed. Maybe it was the way it showed up grey or something, idk. I do know that since I've put this together irl, it is all kinds of awesome; but what do you guys think of it? That's the real question So there ya go, Happy Holidays and all that gushy stuff |
