I'm not sure how active I'll be on the forums considering I joined years ago and mostly lurk but building blocks have always sparked my imagination.
This is where I'll be posting my custom pieces be it slight alterations or full custom builds. Up first is my Otimus Prime alter: This is a work in progress but all the Red parts were replaced with Dark Red. I'm not super happy with the front end and I'm looking to replace the Decepticon panel with another flat 2 line if I can get another Optimus or just the panels. Now for the surprise inside the trailer: |

Tonight I worked on a Pac Rat, it took about an hour of tinkering to get it to look good enough in my eyes.
Here's what I came up with for the Machine Gun Pac Rat: reference pic This is the first from scratch MOC I've ever done feedback would be nice since the topic has had 60 views and no comments. Thanks! Last edited by sodtiwaz; 09-05-2014 at 03:30 AM.. |

That looks great! now you just need to slap a few decals on it, to make it perfect.

Oh man, that is Fantastic! That's leaps and bounds better than what I came up with when I was trying to make them! Great job!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm not sure where all I can get stickers or if most people just print them at home. I do have one site bookmarked that sells them but that seems expensive on a hobby I'm already about a grand into in the last month.
I can do instructions on the pac rat if anyone's interested, I'm not sure where all the parts came from but I'd guess a majority of it is from Wolverines and Rams I decided not to build. After taking pictures I decided to replace the silver 1 x 1 round tile with a 1 x 2 olive green grille and I replaced the silver grill on the back with a 1 x 2 black grille to get a tiny bit closer to the original. The only issue with this is now the right gun doesn't move up and down as freely. I could add a 1 x 1 round plate under the side gun and that should eliminate the problem, suppose I'll play with it tonight. I'm hoping to do the other two pac rats but the flame thrower looks challenging and I'm not sure where I'm going to find tread for the Missile launcher. I did see a Call of Duty at TRU the other day that has tread that might be usable. Maybe Technic pieces they use for motorcycle chain? |

It's time for another custom build... Continuing on the line of Pac Rat's I really wanted to do all three but the flame thrower is really making me think. That said last night I started on a Pac Rat Missile Laucher and I'm slightly ashamed to admit I dreamed about how to piece it together.
The problem with the missile launcher is the original toy had tread all the way across the bottom (which is impossible in reality and in brick building). I looked at lego and kreo stuff and couldn't find any treads that were the right size. I did remember seeing some treads on a Call of Duty Mega Bloks set I saw a while back so I picked it up in hopes that it was the right scale. While I tend to not like Mega Bloks the I was pretty impressed with the build overall and the treads look great IMHO. Unfortunately this is quite a bit bigger than it should be in fact I think it's almost full scale Joe size :( I'd love to hear suggestions on how to shrink it... I also apologize in advance for the crap lighting. reference picture: |

Added bonus though this is a very minor custom:
This is pretty typical for a Cover Girl custom, I used recondo legs that I sanded down with superfine sandpaper then used acrylic brown paint for her boots with some spray varnish. |
