Thanks man, they are pretty fun little builds
Unfortunately I've been ill these past few days; but on the positive side of things, it did give me enough time to complete an instructional guide I've wanted to get done. My Dragonfly Build Pics.pdf No total parts count or pic yet, but at least there's the 137 step pictorial pdf. Enjoy! ;) |

Ok so I went back through and counted about 202 pieces in my Dragonfly build. In order to get this close to what you see above, you will need:
A) One - Kreo GI Joe Dragonfly and B) One - Oxford Little Bird (from set OM3307) As I had mentioned in the Kreo GIJoe Retail Sightings thread pg.15 Here it is pictured below: **EDIT** I forgot to mention the Lego windscreen I am using: 92579 **/EDIT** You'll also probably need to rummage through your Kreo parts box(es) for the missile pieces and some other assorted bits; but at least with those two above mentioned sets, it will get you fairly close. I've already changed my model up a little bit, as I've torn down my Apache for pieces; so if I do a total parts pic, it might be a little inaccurate at this point. Let me know how you guys do on it? I've used cappeca's instructional pics to try my hand at his HAVOC. I've had to take many liberties with parts selection because I didn't have a whole lot of the same pieces available, but here's what I've been able to come up with.
I wouldn't be satisfied unless it had a tow hook ;) I will most likely revisit this for some design changes, so this is basically my first iteration. What do you guys think of it so far? |

I really like it! Amazing first iteration. Only thing that jumps out at me as a little off is the use of kre-o machine guns for the cannons, they appear a slightly too small in some pictures(oddly fine in others).
I would need to look at bricklink to recall what hollow tube pieces lego offers, but I am sure there is something a little bit more sizable. Alternatively if you want to keep the gunbarrel look, perhaps just put a cylinder or two behind the machine gun barrel to give it some length. Other than that, you nailed all the iconic parts

Haha thanks! Well I bet you'll LOVE Day Two then!
I've already done quite a few changes since yesterday. Now there's (barely) room for two in the front; and I legthened the main elevator guns. Also widened it's barrels' spacing. I closed the rear clam shell in more. Also added guns to rear. Added a platform at the rear above the hitch, to enable some personnel transport. Reworked the hovercar a bit. Front lower guns now rotate slightly. Narrowed the rear bed deck to six studs. I added side platforms too, for even more troop carrying! Might have to move those missiles around to accommodate more passengers! But in the end, there's always room for one more! What do you guys think of Day Two? |

Also thanks for the parts breakdown and instructions on the dragonfly. I ordered two of the oxford sets for parts, I look forward to building it over Christmas.
