No you don't have double vision, I've finally gotten to putting another snake armor together ;) This time it took a couple orders to get it done.

Another small update:
This time I swapped out from the dark blue front clip to black. I also changed the Police lights and the roof mounted fog lights, to what I think is a closer likeness to the toy. I still haven't decided if I'm just going to leave it wider in the rear than in the front, or if I should change to wider on the front as well. I think it might lend itself more to the Frankenstein-ish feel that is the Thunder Machine with it being mis-matched widths though. What do you guys think?

Preliminairy mock-up for Tank bay of Joe HQ. This time I've used legos exclusively, but as you see I've already run out of light grey!
And here's a (close) copy of the jail from fellow member OneMoreJoe's 83 HQ build Last edited by stealthy slim; 03-04-2016 at 06:17 PM.. |

Hey gang!
I know I've been away a little long, but now that I've managed to get back I'm planning on doing some more to help keep this little hobby alive! I'll be posting some (long overdue) updates, and some new items I'm working on, as well. My concern is that, since Kreo seems to be dead-in-the-water; attaining parts in the Kreo color scheme is getting near immpossible. Most of the main colors are close enough in Lego, that it wouldn't make much difference. One of the colors that do stand apart, is the dark blue. I also see no dark olive green made from Lego. Because of the uncertainty that is Kreo/Hasbro, I feel like I must try to make a decison as to whether to continue to try to build in kreo, or surrender that dream and switch completely to the Lego color pallette? -If I try to keep with the kreo colors, I will need to start scavenging my creations for bricks. -I could be able to free-up some of those colors by possibly remaking some creations into the lego olive green. But then why not just improve the design while I'm at it? -And if I'm going to do all that, then I could just shelve the kreo and keep building in Lego. Questions, questions... Anyone else want to weigh-in on this? Last edited by stealthy slim; 03-04-2016 at 06:18 PM.. |

Welcome back! I look forward to seeing what you will next unveil. I moved into a new house, and am finally working on kre-o/lego style vehicles, and look forward to using your guides/photo's as I work on my own collection.
I think the lego dark blue complements the kre-o dark blue(at least in pictures, I have not seen it in person). So to me, that leaves the Kre-o OD green as the lone holdout. Personally I am using it where I can, and using the lego forest green for vehicles that it makes sense instead(water moccassin or whale for instance). I am striving to use both, but feel I have a decent pile of kre-o bricks to use for projects. I think if you switch over completely to Lego, there is enough of us around here who would be interested in taking your kre-o bricks off your hands Whatever you decide, I can't wait to see what you build next!

I know I'm a bit later than I wanted with this, but here we go regardless!
> > Can you guess which build plan pics I've just completed? > > > Have you guessed which of my creations this is? > > > Of course you have, It's My Kreo Night Raven! >big round of applause all around< Alright, so just like my other pictorial build plans, there are alot of pics to get through all the steps. There's 79 total in this one. I'm thinking that's a tad too much for posting individually; so as before I have compiled all the images into a pdf. Here's a >dropbox link< to the file so you can check it out. Even with a little better lighting, black mocs don't always want to show up well at my place. Even still, I was able to put mine back together by swiping through the cell pics before I made this pdf. That gives me hope that people will not have much trouble out of it. Unfortunately I did not do the total piece count, or the total contents pic...mainly I guess because (what must be) ocd won't let me keep the model apart! This would be confounding because I need to start dismantling some things to free up more pieces. Well I do currently have one of my geewunner water moccasins setting up on a pretty elaborate trailer. That could help free up some black blocks. I also have my very first black hiss, made from a converted bs mine stryker iirc. So it looks like my little Kreo Night Raven might be safe for a little while longer...well at least until my next project fleshes out ;) Thanks for all your responses, and let me know if/how things work out for you. Hey gang!
I took some time and remade my little Night Raven in Lego in LDD. It wasn't going to be exact because of a few differences between kreo vs lego, so I decided to elongate the engines a bit. Here's the My Night Raven w Drone.zip for anyone who might be interested. And of course, knowing my deep-rooted love of recolors: > The Sky Raven.zip! I know it should be chrome, but white looks pretty good imo Thanks for checking it out! Last edited by stealthy slim; 05-18-2016 at 11:41 AM.. |
