Good question Hama did work on Batman they might bring him over. It's been at every other major publisher why not DC. Although Hasbro makes the Marvel toys so it probably wouldn't happen anyway, but I always wanted to see G.I.JOE crossover with Sgt.Rock.

Does DC do license books? Would Warner (DC owner) really want to promote a Paramount (Hasbro movie partner) brand? I don't think Hasbro would prefer to be in a situation where their comic licenses are tied up by a competitor. Disney is also not an option, so Hasbro must remain with a larger Indy comic company.

The beauty of a comic is that it is a low risk/cost way for the property to be jiggered with, and be rather under the radar. If the pendulum swings too far one way (as seems with Comrade Audre and the former IDW EIC, they have the ability to lower the hammer).

But going back to Hama, keeping the fire burning, and striving for comics immortality. Is his current process still one of doing "Goodwin Style" layouts as scripts or does he now fire up the word processor instead? If he is still drawing, does he have the stamina to do two (or three even) books per month?

I want to apologize. It's clear I don't know what I'm talking about. Would I want someone saying I didn't care? No. And Hama clearly does... just not about my little subset of fandom maybe? Even so, I shouldn't say things like that, as I don't know Hama and so I don't know for sure.

Someone asked Hama years ago if Zandar & Zarana were twins when he created them. He responded by saying yes, he was presented with the toy as twins, that he just wrote the dossiers. So they were intended as twins, but Hama had no interest. As for not writing Zandar, he's certainly not into writing the character now.

Word on the street was DC was interested in Transformers the same time IDW was, and that they intended to fuse them into the DC Universe.
I don’t think it’s unheard of for a company like WB do publish a title that Paramount has the theatrical rights to. Everyone will get their piece of the pie. However, another word on the street is that WB may be looking to sell DC? If that’s the case, I’m not sure now is the time that DC would be looking to grab licensed properties.
All rumor from other threads. I have no idea if any of this is true.

I find it highly unlikely that WB / Time Warner will ever let DC out of it's pocket. I don't even know if that's possible. They just spent a literal fortune managing a several-year move from New York to California and paid for the expenses for every family who chose to come with them.

Warner has owned DC since before cable television. For them to sell DC now would be shocking. It is a literal goldmine of exploitable IP and at worse is an annuity of licensing rights. Is Hasbro buying?

I dunno. It was just something someone mentioned on another thread. I apologize as I don’t remember which thread it was. Rumor for sure.

It interested me so I looked it up. It's from about a month ago. It sounds like more of a major government intervention to monopoly-block or bust. This article is speculating strongly:

https://batman-news.com/2018/02/28/t...-merger-fails/

This article is the first one's source:

https://www.thewrap.com/warner-bros-dc-batgirl-movie/

It ends:

"In addition, a cloud looms over Warner Bros. because of the lawsuit by the Department of Justice against AT&T’s $85 billion bid to buy studio parent company Time Warner.

If the merger fails, an individual close to the company told TheWrap that Time Warner would likely be broken up into parts and sold separately as Warner Bros., HBO and Turner — leaving the fate of DC Comics a bit up in the air."

So THAT'S interesting. It's not a potential sale but sounds more like a corporate devestation.
