Someone once suggested that the 1992 Firefly was really Zartan and it was a revenge scheme on Cobra Commander without risking his real identity. After all, who knew about the BATS in the freighter? The guy who put them there to begin with! Who in Cobra knew the most about the Red Ninjas? Zartan. Zartan is the exactly the type who'd know all the secrets in Cobra, not the hired saboteur Firefly. We never hear Billy comment on what happened to Firefly in the freighter, and he was the only other living witness. (Mindbender is a clone that may not have all the dead doctor's memories.) We don't know Zartan's whereabouts after the Destro: Search and Destroy arc.
Then after the Firefly saga, who is on the now-abandoned Cobra Island for some reasons never given? Zartan, wearing lime green pants.

So, of course I have cheated a read ahead, but not real crazy about where the Russian dojo story goes. I actually really like the debrief of Sneak Peak.
Another use of a "high level clearance code". So, clearly I do not know everything about the armed forces, but I am a retired officer and have stood duty at higher levels where decisions on such things as a foreign aircraft landing would be made. I not saying there is no such thing as a high level clearance code that anyone in DoD would recognize, but I never came across such a thing. Yes, there could be, but I can't envision how it would work, at least not on a universal level. I think the part where the plane lands and is surrounded is much more likely. A plane, even a foreign military craft could turn on its IFF transponder, declare an emergency and ask for permission to land, and be surrounded by MPs, but no doubt phones would be made. We had a code word procedure that basically meant I could talk all the way up to the presidential level, but it went through all the levels. We actually drilled this process, and we had 15 minutes from the time of an incident all the way until presidential authority (if that level was required) was given. But it was going through each layer of command, albeit quickly. Not some super secret squirrel code word that got you access. |
