These are the nominees of the hard rock catergories for this year's Grammy's
Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance Run Back To Your Side Eric Clapton Helter Skelter Paul McCartney Silver Rider Robert Plant Angry World Neil Young Best Hard Rock Performance A Looking In View Alice In Chains Between The Lines Stone Temple Pilots Black Rain Soundgarden First and foremost I love these artists, especially Alice In Chains. If release today, I believe that Helter Skelter still would top the charts. Personally I think Helter Skelter is one The Beatles best songs. Zepplin is my favorite group in any musical genre. There isn't enough space for me to write about my love and appreciation for Zepplin. The same goes for Clapton. I'm not as familiar with Neil Young, but I'm sure I would enjoy his body of work too. With that being said, when did rock become the music of middle aged men and senior citizens? Seriously guys, don't you find it a bit odd that a 68 yr old man is being nominated for a Grammy for a song he wrote and composed 43 years ago. I don't want to make this rant sound like age discrimination as if musicians of a certain age are only limited to certain kinds of music, but what does it say for the evolution of the rock and metal genres when the were just seeing the same faces. You mean to tell me that during all of last year with all of the albums that came out the only ones worth consideration in the hard rock solo and vocal performance were artists that have been in the business a minimum of twenty years? If that's the case that means there's no new blood and the genre is eventually going to die out. I'm sure we don't want to see that happen. On a side note, I'm rooting for McCartney and Alice in Chains. |

There's really very few new good rock bands and they don't get the notice that the older ones do.

The only rock I hear on the radio all sounds like Creed and if you took every song and played it one after the next after the next no one would ever notice the song had changed.
I don't care for hard rock, anyway. I hate musicals, and it all sounds like Pissed-Off Unpopular Kid with Long Hair: The Musical |

Now you have rappers like Wacka Flocka and Gucci Mane who's music actual does suck. Of there's Soulja Boy whose music is so inexplicably bad that there's no adjective in the English language to describe how bad it actually is. Just because you don't like a style of music doesn't mean it's bad. |

The only thing that is a bigger joke than the Grammys is the RnR HOF.

Your first mistake is putting any kind of stock in the Grammy's. Totally irrelevant to me and what I like about music.
