I have at least 3 regular postal workers who deliver mail to my home. They are not the best. Most times when it comes to mail that is certified, express or registered they simply fill out the card and drop it in with my other mail. They won't ring the doorbell or knock. Most times when a package needs my signature I have to go to the post office. This is a real pain in the ass cause I no longer have a car. They tend to not want to re-deliver so they always cross out that option and state "post office pick-up", which I don't even know is their right.
Now the pick-up tags are not the only thing. One guy, this big lazy p.o.s. doesn't even drop my packages at my door. He leaves them on the sidewalk. I have seen the mail truck pull up and as I was going to the door seen this happen. Once he actually threw the box towards the landing of my porch. Another time we had gotten a large amount of mail, mostly ads and dumb stuff. But because it would fit in the box slot, they threw it on the doormat. It of course blew everywhere. The problem is that we have a mail slot, and the newspaper hooks, so all the mail could have easily fir in or on the mailbox, they just didn't care. It's been a year at this residence and I had enough. I went off on the postman today who tried to drop in a notice without any contact. I hadn't wanted to contact and complain to the post office for fear of my mail getting "lost" or damaged, but enough is enough. Is this the way it is everywhere now? Have postal workers really gotten this terrible?

I've never really had any issues around here. My mailman actually brings any packages to my door, along with any mail we may have. He will ring the door bell and hand it to me personally. He is a really nice guy too. He will be getting a Christmas tip from us for sure.

Indeed it seems they have. I have the same issues with the slips being put in for pick up instead of leaving my package at my door step.

Well I can sorta understand them not coming to the door. They have an awful lot of stops to make, and no one likes getting out in bad weather. Mine come to the door and ring the bell if they have a package that won't fit in the box, but there are an equal number of times that i see them coming and go out to the box to get stuff so they don't have too.

When we 1st moved here to where we live now, they would leave me slips for my packages. I went to the post office and had to fill out a waiver saying that I agree to let them leave packages on my porch.

I have never had any problems with the USPS or any of the postal workers that deliver in my area. They always ring the door bell and when they bring packages to my door, they also bring my mail so i don't have to go and get it from the box...

If this is a recurring issue with a specific dude, then you really need to speak with the Postmaster General in your region. All joking about gov employees aside, they take this kinda shit really seriously.

We live in a very small town that doesn't have delivery. So we all have post office boxes. Now most places won't ship to PO Boxes, so we have to use our Street address in conjunction with the PO Box. Our lazy ass post master will send them back if she sees the street address because she says it should be the PO Box only.

Well, that all depends on who you talk to, Zef. BermHawk, I feel your pain, Bud. I used to have a mail carrier who refused to do anything related to her Job. She was constantly on her cell phone...which lead to constant mistakes. She would never leave a package...OR a slip. I would have to ensure that every package sent to me had Delivery Confirmation, so I can see where it was and when the delivery was set for. There we plenty of times that I reported her (this is, of course, after trying to talk to her like most civil people would). The best part? She accused me of being racist. LMAO. Apparently the other 41 people (I wish I was making that number up) that reported her are also racist. The real problem is since she completed her route so fast (which apparently means you don't have to do it right...just quickly), the PostMaster for the area turned a blind eye. That's why I get such a chuckle when they raise rates...because we all know that service levels are never raised. |
