As someone who had to walk to and from my art school (half-hour each way) I have a respect for pedestrians, but I have ZERO tolerance for people who think they can walk down the middle of the street or car lane and think they own the whole damn street/lot. You walk in front of me you get one warning from the horn. Some... err...
lady last night at Walmart decided to test me and actually SLOWED DOWN as she walked right in the middle of the car lane. Bad move in NJ in a spot with zero witnesses and outside camera coverage. Needless to say, better the idiot get a healthy scare from me than run over by someone actually looking for an excuse.
And though I'd never intentionally run someone down, I consider it a fulfilment of my civic duty that the kids on my street are a lot more cautious and actually look both ways because of my driving.

I suppose this is just the sad result of not having a show like GI Joe with their PSAs telling kids this crap.
