What are some of your favorite tv show themes? Most tv themes these days have lost the "magic" they once had. You knew that even if the tv show was horrible, it was worth watching the opening credits just to hear that catchy theme.
Here are my top 3: 1) Heathcliff: This is a really well written song. Even if it is about the 80s version of Top Cat. It sounds like it was written by Toto. The song is relatively short, but could have easily been a top 40 hit 25+ years ago. 2) Unsolved Mysteries: I listen to metal and this tops them all. I don't think Coil or Wagner could write a theme that sends shivers down your spine. 3) Airwolf: Just an awesome theme all around. Very 80s. |

I loved the 80's Buck Rogers theme. EPIC
Season 2 Season 1 Long story short...If it doesn't have synthesizers, it's garbage

Red Dwarf for its contrariness.
X-Files for its spookiness. A-Team for it's anthemic quality. Star Trek Deep Space Nine for its somber beauty. most hated: Friends, Star Trek Enterprise. |

Wow this could be a very long list, but here are a few of my faves:
Hardcastle & McCormick: Let's just say if a cop pulled me over and this song was on...pedal to the medal...it's GO TIME!!! Misfits of Science: 80's cheese, I know. The Equalizer: Hands down one of the BEST openers...EVER. Pole Position: I don't remember a single episode, but I remember the theme like it was yesterday. Robotech: Just...epic.
