michael got his coach fired, insisted that teammate bill cartwright not touch the ball in the fourth quarter, punched out teammate steve kerr in a practice, wouldn't play on the olympic team if isaiah was on it, etc....but people don't often talk about these things, they've gotten lost in the legend or the jordan rules. bird wasn't always liked by his teammates either. magic got his first coach fired. kobe cares about winning more than anyone in the league. if he doesn't want to catch a flick on the weekend with sasha......so what. people call him selfish because he takes a lot of shots. he's an f'n 2 guard, its what they do. plus, would you pass it to kwame brown or smush parker? people call him selfish because he wanted to get rid of shaq, but shaq was very lazy there at the end. plus as an individual, he wanted the challenge of leading a team, being the man. he has talked about how other players in the league a few years ago always threw in the asterisk when talking about kobe, the "yeah, but he has shaq." basically the rest of the league (and alot of fans) say he can't do it without shaq. he had 3 rings and millions, so he took on another challenge. and he looks about ready to deliver. is it selfish to want to be the best ever? maybe. but being the best means winning, and that is what kobe does. |

there's always somewhat of a selfishness in the great ones, but i think it is their rage to win that brings out what seems like selfishness.

I can't for the life of me get into basketball, I rant around my house (my older brother is a huge fan) that basketball season NEVER ends.

I use to hate kobe and the lakers with a passsion but now Im a kobe fan. He made me a believer,I have watched alot of basketball in my life and never have I seen a player as clutch as kobe,it almost seem super natural the way he scores in the 4th and hit miraculous shot time and time again, kobe is trully unstoppable. Go Knicks...

I can not believe that there are people who are really into basketball who believes that orlando stands a chance. This magic team is the worst team to ever make the finals, they got lucky against a KG'less Celtic team and was lucky that Lebron choked last round. Im sorry but Stan VanGundy does not know how to coach the talent he has,Dwight Howard is not an offensive post player,he's a leaper rebounder type,he needs to play the weak side, not be fed the ball in the post. The magic are in bad need of pointguard and a actual power foward.

LAkers!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. That was an exciting OT. Tuesday is going to be tough. If LAkers win that one or Thurs. it's basically over for the Magic.
