all toys from 25 years ago look 25 years old and terrible compared to todays toys, that's not a knock on MASK. Joes hold up the best because at least the vehicles are still great and make up for the short comings of the figures compared to the modern stuff. Transformers are the freaking worst. Mask figures were pretty terrible then, there is no way they would have any appeal if simply placed blindly on the market today.

are you talking concepts or the sculpting and actual execution of the figures? the concept of MASK is certainly awesome and would appeal to any generation. but the toys from 25 years ago are terrible and simply releasing them isn't going to appeal to children, who know that toys look old.

New MASK figures in 25th/ME style like Matt Trakker and new transforming vehicles would be all kinds of awesome. Well worth sitting through whatever crap movie they throw at us as an excuse to make them.

Trouble here is the cost. Look at the TF Human Alliance toys at $29.99. Sam & Bumblebee could just as easily be Matt Trakker & Thunderhawk (old Camaro mold or new Camaro mold), roughly the same size & scale, same engineering, & same amount of plastic. On the down side, $29.99 would be the starting price point for the main line given the recent tactic of pricing for package size rather than package content. The silver lining for fans is (from my perspective of what I see on shelves around here), other than Mikaela/Mudflap The TF HA toys don't hang around on the shelves for very long. At any rate, I'd love to see a then & now release like Target did for the Polar Battle Bear. Picture An '80s Camaro Thunderhawk parked next to a '11 Camaro Thunderhawk. Let me get this out of the way early ... this movie will suck, the casting will be bad, the CGI too over the top, Megan Fox will probably star, this movie will touch my childhood memories in inappropriate ways, I hope it's a reboot, I hope they set it in the 80's so we can have the bitchin camaro. Why is Matt Trakker black, Channing Tatum sucks, Hasbro has no idea what fans want, was MASK really popular enough to have a movie, Batman for the Win, Who would you cast in the role of..., I could write a better script, I hope that Bay is/isn't the director, I'm being cautiously optimistic but let me tell you the way in which this will suck....*sigh*
lmao!!! ftw

I been saying Hasbro needs to do this for a long long time. They need to explore and mind thier own vaults so that they dont have to license every toy line they do.
MASK and COPS are the two lines most begging for this treatment Jem is cool too, Hasbro needs to make it their barbie, it will take time but if they slowly build it up I believe these 3 brands will make great franchises heres to hoping for 3 and 3/4th figues of these guys |
