So I worked security for a hospital while I put myself through school and saw some really nasty stuff.
It was my responsibility to body bag the recently deceased and wheel them down to the morgue. One time, as I was turning a body to get the bag underneath, a copious amount of "dead guy juice," as I termed it after that, poured out of the corpse and splashed all over my shoes. That was pretty damn horrible. What a smell. Scratch one pair of work boots. Speaking of the morgue, there was a human brain in a jar down there for the medical students to review. But that was just more cool than gross. In addition, just about every organ you can pull out of a man was also in a jar of some kind down there. The morgue was a HOLE and the creepy dissection table was just really…well, creepy. I swear, I half expected the zombie apocalypse to start in that room. I COULD go into massive amounts of detail about all the grizzly injuries I saw pulling people off the med flight helicopters. But I won't. Yes, thank me. So what is the nastiest, most disgusting thing you've ever seen? And please people; let's keep this thread PG-13!

Well for one, the job you had? You're a bigger man than I.
Put it this way, I went to my friend's father's wake a year or so ago...went, got to the back porch of my house, put the clothes in a hefty bag and right into the garbage. I'm borderline OCD/Neurotic with things like that. Most disgusting for me? Well lets see I am 1/2 owner of a Rubbish Removal/Cleanout company...so I've seen some pretty nasty things. Used condoms all over the floor of a beach house--which I personally wouln't clean. Backed up toilets etc. I can say this, years ago I worked for the Road Dept. a few towns over. Got a call for roadkill in the street. I found it--it was a racoon and kept trying to shovel it up..the more I did that, the more it.."came apart" and the more I gagged. As I'm gagging and cursing in the middle of the street, 2 guys carrying drywall into the house are having a FIELD DAY laughing at me--at one point they were doubled over laughing and put the sheetrock down. I finally got it onto the shovel and ran back to the truck, as I was running I twisted my ankle and sprained it pretty badly. My "Ow!! sonuvabitch!!" on top of the gagging, on top of the limping with disgusting roadkill on a shovel all while 2 guys about my age had the time of their lives......sucked. |

The condom thing would absolutely kill me. I wouldn't do it. Backed up toilets? Had my fair share of those during the "off hours" at the hospital after maintenance had gone home. Worst one? The lady who plugged it up after having just given birth. Oh. My. Hell.

I used to work for a mold/water damage remediation company. Sometimes we would have to deal with sewage, "water damage" as the boss would say.
One time I was called out to a job as extra help, it turned out to be a sewage/mold job. An apartment complex's sewage pipe broke and I was one of the lucky ones that got to go into the crawl space of an entire apartment unit and set up sump pumps to start pumping out the sewage. Everything was down there you name it: sh*t, rubbers, pads, etc. Literally I was knee deep in it... except the crawl space was at most 3 feet tall. Good times!

At my job I see enough things, most of which I'd rather not talk about if they disturb me. The average disgusting thing doesn't get me that much anymore. Thank God I have a good crew to commiserate and gallows humor with me.

Everything on the top few floors was fine and he was about to leave and the thought struck him to ask if there was a basement. The people said yes, but that he didn't want to go down there. Turns out the pipe from the toilet to the sewer had ruptured and they were just letting the sewage drain into the basement. Health department came in and quarantine the site and take care of it.

Probably when I had to go ID the bodies of a trio of employees who died in a car crash. They weren't as bad as the old woman being dissected with her chest burst wide open and a look like she was moaning/screaming who knows....

Disgusting? There's so many ways you can find something disgusting. I'll give two:
For reasons unknown a rat died in the bushes on the side of my house. None of us knew about it until the smell started to waft in through the front door. I was of course elected to scoop it out. Now let me say that I can handle almost anything, and have, but maggots just creep me out and this thing was bloated with them and stinking away in the summer sun. I grabbed my dogs' pooper scooper and scooped up the body intending to drop it in a trash bag, tie that bag off and deposit it in the trash. Of course the thing was goopy and, as luck would have it I dropped it in the trash bag, the trash bag fell over and everything in the damned thing's guts spilled out all over my patio. There I am in the dark cleaning every slimy slithering one of those things and trying not to vomit the whole time. Even more disgusting: I was on a very regular call: elderly woman not seen for some time, strange odors coming from the house. The door was locked so I was sent in through the bedroom window. The horrible smell led me to the living room where I found her sitting in her rocking chair, several days dead. Let me tell you that, unlike the movies, fluids and other things drop out of people after they're gone. It was a horrible place to be and we were stuck there waiting for several hours for the county coroner. Now to the really disgusting part. I was elected to call her next of kin to pass on the sad news. I found a number to her daughter and called only to get the son in law. He took the news and promised to tell his wife when she got home. About 15 minutes later he calls back. "She owns a car doesn't she?" He asks. The son of a bitch just found out she was dead and he's looking to profit from it. Human beings can be very disgusting.
