3D TV - Will you bite?

3D in movies can be cool when done right, but 3D TV? Just another stupid gimmic in my opinion. When would you ever want to use this? Sports, maybe, but, for me that wouldn't justify the $3,000-$6,500 price tag for a TV and the migraine it would create after hours of watching it.

Is anyone here planning on picking up one of these? What is your take on this?

Ok, it may be good for porn too

It's one of those things where I'll wait for the "early adopters" to suffer through the high introductory prices and teething problems of the new technology before spending my money on it (like I did for cellular phones, post-Windows 98 OSes, next-gen gaming consoles, HDTV, Blu-Rays, etc.). I don't consider it a "must have" feature right now (especially since the media isn't readily available), so I can stand to wait a few years (or more) to see if it's just a gimmick that won't take off or if it's something I want to incorporate in my set up.

Very interesting, would like to test one to see what they are like. VIZIO will have a 47" 3D for 2K so the prices will be decent.

I was going to buy the 47 VIZIO with the WIFI for our exercise room but passed to see what will be coming out. Hopefully they will have some price drops.

Same here. Give it at least 5 years to become better supported and a fraction of the introductory cost. Even then maybe not.

this idea is a big pass for me. 3D was a lame concept in the 70's and 80's and it lame now.

I just bought a Mitsubishi 65 Inch DLP TV with 3D for under a $1000. So the price is cheap if you do want something to hang on the wall.

It isn't a choice of whether I'll bite or not, eventually, I'll have to change over whether I like it or not. I didn't want DVD's or CD's or HDTV when they first came out, but I was not given the choice for anything else eventually as after a time they were the only thing available for purchase.

I will but not for another 2 or 3 years. I seriously think that eventually the 3-d option will become the norm on future TV's as the technology gets cheaper.
