I used to be able to read the New Testament, Homer, Herodotus, and just about any other literature you'd care to mention, in Ancient Greek.
Sadly, years of alcohol abuse have erased most of that from my mind. I still hold on to a minute amount of Latin and slightly more German.

Spanish and Italian are, being Romance languages, very compatible...but Arabic, Korean, and Gaelic (I'm going to assume Irish Gaelic, not Scots, Welsh, or Brittany)...you'd be hard pressed to find 3 more unrelated languages. I gotta know, how?

I have slightly rusty Korean, although I write it like a first-grader. I mostly use it when I talk with my parents or relatives.
I also know extremely basic French but I'm so terrible at it that I'm embarrassed to say I had three years of it. Hell, I can barely keep up with my friends when we talk in Pig Latin.

My Mom is Puertorican, my Dad is Italian. I have lived in both Countries. 3 of my best friends back home happen to be from 3 different corners of the globe. You nailed it with your assumption that I mean Irish Gaelic My buddy Billy: Irish My Buddy Mohammed: Iraqi My Buddy John: Korean We all went to high school together, and hung out often. As such, I would go over there houses, and when they spoke to their parents, I always asked "what does that mean?". Little by little, I learned how to speak their native tongues, if nothing more than simple exchanges....and of course curse words |

Ich Spreche eine kline Deutch..........sehr kline
Yeah I probably butchered that I can speak a little German. Much less than I should be able to having taken 2 years of it. But I know enough to know that the German version of the song 99 red balloons doesn't say jack about red ballons in it |
