I guess I am new here, even though my join date was 2004. My data carried over from TFW2005. I am not a Joe collector, but I did like the cartoon back in the 80s. I also used to have a bunch of the Marvel comics, which I have since sold off.

Finally I found the "Say hello" Thread ;-)
So - I´m sending a big "Hello, I´m new" from germany to all of you here at HISS-Tank! I´m a Joe fan since 1985 when i got my first figure on a holiday in the Netherlands (in germany you couldn´t buy them). It was Beachhead and as you might guess it was not my last :-) Unfortunately I sold nearly all items at the age of 13/14 and so after the joes came back to my mind in the midtwenties, now I´m 31 years old, I had to buy them for many Euros back from ebay (sigh). I don´t own that much figures now and just bought those I felt most connected to from my childhood memories (mostly stuff ranging from 1985-89 items). Recently I started buying a few from the 25th anniversary stuff as the artwork is so great and oldschool! Besides the Joes I´m into music (neofolk, martial industrial, pagan and black metal, vikingarock, ambient, electronics) books (a lot!), some comics (Wormwood Gentleman Corpse, Conan, Umbrella Academy), movies, martial arts and running/jogging. So I guess that´s enough or even more than you possibly need to know ;-) Cheers!

Yo (joe)-
24 year old diehard GI Joe fan and Maryland native since I've been a kid. Love the Duke vs. Cobra Commander angle from the cartoon. Comics were great, cartoon was one of my favorites and the toys kept me entertained year after year after year. Favorite Joes: Duke, Flint, Heavy Duty, Beach Head, Ace, Wet Suit, Snake Eyes and probably my favorite: Shockwave. Favorite Cobras: Cobra Commander, Destro, Storm Shadow, Vipers. Favorite chicks: all of them Can't wait for the movie. |

I finally found this thread!
Whats up everyone, Im Kalash, Im from Philadelphia and I am an artist, urban explorer, firearm and vintage/rare toy collector (weirdo combo right?). But let me get down to why Im here: I've been collecting Joes since I was 3 or so, I received many new from that era ('92 to '94) in addition to older Joes from as early as '83 from my cousins and uncle (who were into Joes when they first came out) and since then I've been a life long collector. However, in during a move around 2002-03 I lost almost ALL of my collection, every joe, vehicle, playset, and all the cases and such that I kept them in. After this I stopped collecting ARAH GI Joes and focused on other things in life (like 1/6th scale things, and my art work and such) and until recently, I didn't miss all the figures I had lost. I guess I just knew I would never get them back. Luckily I had kept my file cards in a seperate location at that time when I had moved. And when the 25th line started to roll, I started to collect again. And I had all my cards to make a big list of Joes and vehicles I needed to get, except this time I wouldnt be collecting Cobra (as I found it would be too expensive). So I only collect Joes despite the majority of my original collection being mostly composed of Cobra figures. And I made a small exception for Zartan and his Dreadnoks, as they were too cool to pass up. And thats it. I look forward to getting to know people here, and hopefully eventually blending in with the lot of my compatriots. -Kalash
