Hello everyone, New York toy collector here. I have always been into GI Joe but after my first child I had to sell the collection for extra money, from what i read it seems to be a common story. Now I am in better financial shape and hope to rebuild the collection and get back into the conventions, trade shows and just all around collecting community. I have already acquired a few pieces and am looking forward to building it up again. There are several great memories attached to playing with my Joes as a kid and being in awe when the local Child World would get the new line in which I am sure alot of kids had the same feeling.

Thanks for the welcome. Wow, playworld there is a place I have heard of in a while. Had one close to me, I can remember buying a deep six that came with the face paint back in the day and running home to throw him in the pool and watch him sink to the bottom, lol.
I am currently collecting vintage 80s joes to start and there are a few pieces I am trying to track down. Was going to post in classifieds to see if anyone has them for sale. |

Hullo, old fan, new collector. It's been over twenty years since mine and my brother's Joe collection was donated to charity, ahead of a house move, but the love of the brand and the characters has stayed through the years.

Howdy all,
I am a long time Joe fan. I had lots of cool stuff from the Night Raven (my fav) to the Mobile Command Center. I guess the toy's inspired me as I followed in Falcon's footsteps. This last trip to Afghanistan my mother had her leg amputated and can no longer live in her house. As I was helping her clean it out I ran across all of my old Joe's. I met another Vet at a garage sale while reducing the amount of stuff at the house. He was super stoked on my old Joes so I gave him a great deal.... Well as I was getting down to the last bit of cleaning I came across a J.C. Penny's bag. Inside was an old credit card receipt for 10 bucks..... What was the receipt for you ask? Well I thought you all would enjoy the unveiling so check the pictures. I thinking of sending them all in to get graded as they are in great condition with no yellowing. Still doing the research though. |

Its great that you are helping her out. Also that is one hell of a find so graded or not it will definitely help with some bill money. Welcome to the tank!
