Hello, I am new to the forum, but not to G.I. Joe, or collecting. I have been a member of several G.I. Joe themed forums since the early 2000's, but they appear to have become void of activity. As a child my G.I. Joe collection consisted of 90% of the toys released from 1986-89, a few mail-order vehicles from 1983-85, and a handful of early 1990's figures. I have always been a fan of Cobra, and Cobra army building. I even had an army of 86's B.A.T.S. when I was a kid. I also collect NES games, action figures from the original TMNT line, series 1-3 Battle Beasts (no Shadow Beasts for me), 80's LJN Voltron toys, and Star Wars POTF2 action figures. I would love to rebuild my childhood Dino Riders collection, but the stuff is impossible to find. I collect some other stuff, as well, but I thought that I would stick with the action figures.

Hey Joes! I am a new member here but i have been lurking on here for about a year. I got my first Joes in 1983 when I was 6 and loved them until around 1989. I collected a little in college but lost touch for a while during which I graduated, got a job, got married and had kids. I didn't keep up on current events in the Joe world and thus missed out on the 25th and 30th stuff, not finding out until it was leaving the stores. I got back into collecting now and have a some of the 50th line. I saved up my big boy money and finally acquired a Flagg! Never had one as a kid. I'm now looking on collecting mainly 30th and 50th lines and filling in some holes on the vintage stuff. I still have all of mine from when I was a kid.
These forums are a great resource and I have learned a lot and it's reignited the excitement of collecting. Oh, and Flint is my favorite Joe. |

I did not realize that there was a welcome aboard forum, I guess I should have known to look. I recently retired from the Navy after 20 years of operating nuclear reactors on aircraft carriers. I loved GI Joe when I was a kid, I think it was the first thing I wanted to read when I was a little ankle biter. I have a wonderful wife who, when we moved back to San Diego, was gracious enough to find a house with a library in it to allow my comic and GI Joe collecting to have a place to ferment, I mean grow. I mainly like the newer stuff as the level of detail is way better than what we had as kids, but the old stuff is nostalgia heaven, and my 4 year old daughter likes playing with the old stuff, so it has a place here. I have not been on a forum like this in 15 years, so it is a bit of a shock to remember how much of a douche some people can be on the internet, but this forum has some awesome ideas and openly shares ideas about customizing and collecting, so I like it here. I enjoy the hobby and enjoy the idea that my kids and I can play with them and have adventures together instead of them playing video games, so let's keep the hobby going.

Welcome aboard ILGIP, Dr. Faireborn, & SD Clutch. Always nice when lurkers come out of the shadows or when new members join the community. Joe has had his ups and downs over the years, but the online community has kept him going when Hasbro seems to not want to. Whatever brought you back, there are plenty of great people here who can relate and share your passion for nostalgia, customization, or introducing the next generation to Joe.

Hi everyone. Tx area Joe fan. I only collected Joes as a young kid, but since Dec, when my 7 year old fell in love with G.I. Joe, its given me my fever back. Its been a blast searching out ME Joes, MOC, so my son can experience the wonder of seeing that card art, and the awe when a new Joe comes out of that bubble!
My son and I are both looking forward to visiting JoeCon in just over a week. |

Hi all! Im a long time Joe fan/collector but haven't been part of any online community in quite a while (since DDP was just bringing back GI Joe comics!)
I was a heavy collector of the toys for many years but stopped around 10-15 years ago when I got married but I am starting to slowly get back into it. However, I still collect and read all GI Joe comics. I look forward to seeing others collections and discussing GI JOE! My Collection includes: - 400+ 3 3/4 figures (mostly lose, mostly complete) - 100+ vehicles (including the USS Flagg!) - Complete 155 issue run of Marvel GI Joe (and all Special Missions) - Every Dark Horse, DDP, and IDW GI Joe comic! |
