Saw this story on the net and it was on the radio today also.
H&M and Wal-Mart destroy and trash unsold goods - Fashion + Beauty on Shine Yeah it may not mean much to us, but this is completely ridiculous. We knew they did this to toys and other stuff but for crying out loud... we are talking about clothes here that could have went to needy people during the cold spell. There were also Jackets with the arms ripped off of them and sweaters with holes in them. I know there are homeless people out there who dig through garbage for stuff just to try to get by, but even they don't stoop to this low. If Wal Mart can't sell it, then they will trash it instead of donating it to people who are down on there luck and are having a hard time recovering. No.. we can't buy the homeless person something everyday but if we can donate something that is good to them then we should. I know I always try to donate my unwanted goods to churches and Salvation Army as often as I can and my kid has a ton of toys she is willing to donate. But we don't load it all up in the back of the truck and take it to the dumpster. Retailers need to start thinking of other people instead of the bottom line. Have a heart dammit!

Wow, amazeBALLS!!!! Well, you have to look at the reputation Walmart in how they treat their employees. Walmart makes too much money for the government to intervene.

That would require me to sacrifice some of the ease and convenience of my cushy, self serving American lifestyle. I for one am proud to live in a country where such waste is possible, and the most impoverished are able to achieve morbid obesity. Many brave men and women of past generations worked and fought hard so I could enjoy this type of lifestyle. I will not dishonor their memory by living any other way.
