I feel the same way, I won't bid on an item if I think I am being over-charged for shipping I understand the seller needs to make something on shipping but it costs $25.00 to $40.00 to ship a terror drome or a flagg but some charge $100.00 to $200.00
and the ebay stores most of them it's is way -over -board!

I have to say, people do disagree about what counts as "high shipping."
I recently sold some stuff on Ebay, and charged a flat fee of around $7 to ship what I thought were small items in small boxes. I figured the cost of packing materials into the cost.
When I got to UPS, I was shocked to see that they cost me $10-11 to ship! Small, light packages with just a single DCU figure!
I took the hit, that's the risk you take with flat fee shipping. But still, next time I list things, $10 flat fee it is. That's not high. That's, insane as it sounds, what it costs me to ship.

I just stay away from high shipping. If you receive a damaged item or any item you are not satisfied with, they have the option of just refunding the purchase price, but you got stuck with the shipping. Not worth it.

If you let stuff like that get to you and feel the need to report it - you're more than welcome to do so. But it's going to be about as effective as a tech support desk in India. Only at least someone, somewhere is listening to you.
I've narced on a few sellers, who clearly misrepresented their stuff and even photoshopped images, and gotten the "Thank you, we'll look into it" response. But after a reporting it more than a couple of times, those guys are still selling the same crap at the same high price. As long as eBay is still making money, they just don't care.

In regards to feeling like a vigilante. They did some research awhile back and the pleasure centers of the brain are stimulated when a person sees someone who was cheating or doing something wrong receives some sort of punishment. They had groups of people playing cards, some of them were plants in the project. There was a fake electrical shock and it was given to the plants when they were obviously cheating or when they hadn't been cheating at all. The scientist were observing the areas of the brains when the participant would see the electrical shock. Please excuse the crappy explanation, I read it awhile back. I just remember the result of the project.

I report them when I see them because it helps out other buyers that might have been screwed by the shipping gougers. it's my duty to my fellow humans to let them know if I see a trap- and that high shipping game is a trap they hope to catch someone in. If I walk past and leave it hidden, well then I may as well have set it myself.
