Seeing as the next joe stuff won't be here for a few months. I don't know, I could buy more clothes and makeup. That is what I should be buying.
I have 1500 in my checking now. But it isn't enough. |

Um you DO realizer that it's likely you will remain an impulsive buyer, and after impulsively selling all this stuff, you'll just go out and impulsively buy it again later, right?
I think a better way to take a break from collecting is to shift into crafting your collection into the perfect display- trust me this is no small task and will occupy much of your leisure time, without costing you money. Then when you're ready to add to it you'll also have a better understanding of what you actually have, and that will help curb the impulse to buy. If you just purge, you're going to binge again dude. Been there, done that. The only thing worse than spending 8 k on your collection is spending 8 kn on your collection, selling it off for 5k, then re- buying it all again in 2 years for 15k. What you need is moderation, not abstainment. Just my philosophy man but I've seen this go down before and don't wish it on anyone. |

Two things that I do to curb impulsive buying:
1. At retail stores, I'll pick up the item in my hand and walk around the store for 45 minutes, not just looking at other stuff, but pondering my purchase in the back of my mind. More often than not, I end up putting the item down and leaving. 2. If I am thinking about an item so much that I really really want to buy (at that particular moment), I will go to sleep and see how I feel about it in the morning. About 75% of the time, my urges relent when I wake up.

I got allot of Vintage Vehicles this year [Crusader Shuttle,2 Night Ravens, Skystriker a few other stuff]
Good thing with all the stuff I've collected I've given my nephew a few vehicles so he can play with them [the Battleforce 2000 guys and the Iron Grenaiders stuff I had] I know I can't go cold turkey with this still....I just am gonna take a break...got too plus I got to make new lists of what I'm looking for now that I've gotten everything I've been wanting to get pretty much for the last 10 years this year. Plus I'm tired of dusting stuff, and tired of having to move storage totes around so gives me good opportunity to get rid of stuff. I still have to get a few more Anime Statues those I may limit to maybe 1 or 2 a month since those cost the most that I collect. But eh, I do need to take a break from collecting...otherwise I may start halucinating and hearing my collection speaking to me saying "Hey man you didn't get the varient version of my figure! Your collection isn't complete! BUY MORE!" LOLZ! Edit: Well I'll pretty much end off this year's spending with 1 last Anime Statue that I couldn't pass up on Amazon[been wanting that one for like since it came out and prices on it had been insane.....so far I've gotten 2 Anime Statues I've wanted this month on sale that I've been waiting a long time to find on sale and 1 that was a Japanese Exclusive that finally a US Seller had at a decent price too that I grabbed decent being about $60 or so] That's about 26 anime statues/figures this month so far. One thing is I just wish I didn't collect the expensive stuff that's the kicker there.... Last edited by TyjosAzari; 12-30-2009 at 01:15 PM.. |

Today i bought Willrow Hood. I have no idea why but i had to have him. I think it was because i hadn't seen him in the stores and needed to hunt something. That should probably be some kind of red flag....
Nah. Now my future Joe HQ will have home-made ice cream! |

I tried getting into Robotech but it was way too pricey. My hats off to you for making it this far.
