Went for a toy run at TRU before the end of the year. Two ugly guys in toy aisle kept looking at me. They kept getting near me and I rolled my eyes and didn't look at them.
Let me say this, they were hoodlums up to no good. Most geeks get my respect as long as they behave. A crowded toy store two days before christmas isn't a place to meet someone.
But I do like seeing geeks in the aisle. It is interesting to hear that someone else knows what the Youzhan Vong is.

Also, I used to whore myself out to all kinds of women. Unfortunately, and just recently I grew these things called "Standards". And now have a girlfriend! Gahh. she is amazing. Not only did she buy me a pitt, but yesterday she got me a Battle Station!!
Ahem..Moral of the story, Whore yourself out enough, and maybe..just maybe you will find the right one.

That's one of the rewards of putting the seat down and spending a few hours on Sunday with us. I bought my boyfriend a PSP because he was good and did what I asked him to do. He loves it and plays it on CalTrains and in the car pool.
But I avoid all men I'm not involved with in public. I have a boyfriend and well, I'm looking for little plastic men not a real life gi joe.

I have definitely felt your pain PitViper. I have been in the same situation as you on a few occassions and I have almost NEVER walked up to the girl in that situation no matter how much I walked around the store trying to muster up courage.
Try not to regret it TOO MUCH though because being prepared isn't everything and it might not have changed the outcome.
Back in 1998 I was in Las Vegas for my friends wedding. After the wedding we all went to the Planet Hollywood in Ceasars Palace for a Vegas style lunch reception. All of the guys who attended the wedding were in suit and tie and when we walked into Ceasars Palace we were followed around and photographed by some tourist who we think had mistaken us for celebrities. :-D
Anyway, in a crowded room, I saw this beautiful girl who just stood out above all others and I knew I had to make my move. Someone nearby was selling flowers so I bought a single rose(red was the only color they had) and with AT LEAST 60 people watching(not including the wedding party!), I approached her table which was in the middle of the crowded room where she was sitting with her girlfriends.
I politely interrupted their conversation and said that I was just mesmerized by her and felt compelled to approach her. She blushed, accepted the rose and said thank you. She then invited me to sit at her table WITH her friends and we began to talk. She told me she was very impressed by my courage and although she thought I was "very handsome," she lived in Phoenix, attended ASU and had a boyfriend. I lived in San Diego because of my military commitment so distance and timing were against me that day. I thanked her for her time and I excused myself.

Could have turned your appearance into a witty intro.
You lost this one for yourself.
Plus being in North Jersey with an Eagles cap on doesn't help. J/K
You simply defeated yourself by not thinking quickly enough on how to use your appearance as a an intro filed with self depricating humor.
I guess we don't always get what we want for Christmas.

Back in the Day when i was single I usually Did not have the Courage to just walk up and speak to woman. Did it once with a girl on the train that didnt work out.
Then one day while rollerblading home from work I stopped in Software ETC. (which are now gamestop) The cute girl behind the counter was talking to her friend about batman and how she thought Micheal Keaton was the best Batman. I Just cut in and asked why.
She said because he is cute. I said but you can only see his eyes.
so she says but he has cute eyes. So I say How are my eyes.
she paused and said They are cute and then walked off. I smiled at her and skated out of the store backwards.
1 year later we were married and its been 12yrs since.
When ever she tells the story she adds how much she hated me when ever i came in the store to say hello to my friends who worked there because they would all stop working to talk with me and would ignore the no Rollerblade rule. LOL
I guess Moral of the story Love is Blind if you reveal your heart to someone and its meant to be no matter how you look will affect the outcome.
