Clips, magazines, it doesn't matter what you call them if you know what they are. You can point at a truck and call it a car, people still know what you mean. It's not like zombies give a shit what you call anything.
If you're a soldier in a war and you ask your buddy for a clip, and he gives you a magazine, then you have the right to be pissed-off and pissy about it, he should know better because he's been through training, he's putting your lives at risk by not knowing the terms. But if you're a couple of ignorant city-boys with 10 zombies coming to eat you, does it really matter what they call the ammo? You gonna give em crap when they save your life with their last CLIP? lol |

Well said Nightmare...we cannot judge others as we would judge ourselves. I however would give much grief to any of my men who called a magazine a "clip" but those standards don't apply to the masses. Although exceptionally entertaining, I have yet to confidently extract the details of anyones contingency plan. I was hoping to have some civilian/non-LEO/non-militia survivalist types chime in on this one as the conversation that led to this post implied that most people have absolutely NO PLAN whatsover (see Katrina). The conversation prior to that was about sheep, sheepdogs, and wolves. If you haven't read up on that it's worth looking into...although not a perfect social evaluation it has some merit.

All I've been doing is reading-up on how to operate the most common weapons and going to the range with my friend every chance I get. I've stayed out of the government's radar so far (no credit cards, no bank accounts, no library cards, hiding my IP and searches when looking for anything that might trigger a red flag, lol) so they don't know what I'm up to (as if they care anyway, right?), so I don't think I'll ever get a gun legally, but I know exactly where to go if I ever need one when everything comes crashing down. You gotta learn how to make those IEDs for crowd control and traps, and of course even basic stuff like snares.
It makes me seem like a crack-pot now, but hey, I'll do alright when the time comes. I already live off of half a bottle of water a day and a few snacks, starvation isn't really a concern xD |

I live two blocks from my office. It's a secure building with a gated garage. The only way in is with a keycard. If they get though that, or the first floor entrance there is no accessible stairwell up except behind the strongest door I've even on the first floor. Using desks and furniture from the second floor I'd completely block access from that stairway to any higher point. Each floor is protected by the same keycard access in the stairwell and the elevators will not take you anywhere unless you have a card. Each floor is stocked with food and water. Hopefully enough to hold out.
I go over the plan in my head 2-3 times a day.

LOL! I live in the wrong part of town for riots. Like everyone's been saying though... big city living my chances are pretty slim and my plan only works if all hell breaks loose at night.

So the guys and I regularly discuss our plans for a national break down of law and order whether that be from a natural disaster, zombie plague or otherwise. I personally have a highly practical outload of ammo, food, fuel and the like. All packed into two large pelican cases ready to be thrown into the truck. So the question is...what is in YOUR outload and what would your plan be?

I heard that!
Seriously where I live as soon as you can walk you are taught survival skills. Huntin, fishin, campin ( not sissy style but real campin). My favorite lesson is if you aint gonna eat it dont shoot it, a waste of bullets, find something else to kill it with.
