in with the DOHC 1.6 ZC engine! that thing was NUTS!!!!! 140hp with Si transmission and 89 integra ECU (higher rev limit, better fuel map and NO SPEED LMITER!) i used to whoop on GSR's, and B16 civic with that mofo! ahhh it was fun but i got sick of front wheel drive. For Christmas '98 my Grandparents bought me a '91 Civic Si. That car was awesome! I put a DC Sports DAC intake on it, and a GReddy cat-back exhaust. I was saving up for a DC Sports header before it got totalled in 2000. Bought a '94 del Sol Si SOHC VTEC after that and lowered it, put on I/H/E, and it was the BEST car I've ever had to this day. I had to get rid of it in 2004 because we needed a bigger car (baby was on the way) and I still to this day regret selling it to my brother-in-law, because he totalled it 2 months later. Hondas are awesome. I'd like to get an Acura TL, an RSX Type-S, or an S2000 one day soon. |

i was just chatting with notfastenuff in a PM, and realized how much i miss my old toyota corrolla GTs (AE86). last of the rear-wheel-drive corollas, they were a real blast to drive. like a little go-kart!
i took mine to numerous drift events in southern claifornia, and one autocross event where i won a trophy for fastest novice time of the day in FSP! so here's to old red. I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!!!! i was on spike TV with old red! the guy giving me "instructions" (the film crew told him to make it sound like an instruction segment) is famous drifter Ryan Hamtpon of team falken. his drift camaro was righteous!!!

Hondas are awesome. I'd like to get an Acura TL, an RSX Type-S, or an S2000 one day soon. he had at least intake/headers/exhaust (loud as hell plus stickers from AEM, DC Sports) saw me and downshifted to 2nd, VTEC said *RAAAAAAAH!* i just left it in 3rd and mashed it. non vtec said *VVRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAH* and i just ate him up! hahahaha!!! oh man i miss that stuff. RSX is nice as hell too. my wife had a 2004 type S. it was stock but QUICK! i tried talking her into a set of ground controls a friend was selling for $100, and some 5zigen FN01RC for $500 with tires, but she didnt want to mess with it. doh! would have been a blast at autocrosses! it was a lease so we gave it back to acura before we moved to japan. we both cried giving up our cars.

Man, I remember right after I first went to work for GM and had just gotten out of GM training school (to be a GM technician) those had just came out! A few years later I went to work for Pont/GMC dealer and we got to drive some of them. WOW! More fun than the old Buikc Grand Nat's were back in the 80s (what I cut my teeth on as an helper at the dealer). And I'd love to get a nice GN to go along with the Sy... and maybe a Typhoon eventually. The GNs are a little easier to mod but nothin beats the SyTy's launch. I drive a completely stock, automatic, gold, 4-door 1993 Mazda Protege. With aftermarket.... rubber floor mats. Yeah boy.
Cause I'm a P - I - M - P. Don't knock it, it's an upgrade from my previous 1992 Mazda B2200, which after three thefts had no speakers, radio, heat, or working passenger door. THAT was an upgrade from the 4-door rebuilt Geo Metro wagon my dad gave me to drive in highschool. Which was an upgrade from the formerly-government-owned, bright neon yellow 1980's half ton Dodge Ram stickshift pickup I learned to drive on. Yup. I'm 24 years old and have five times as much into my 401k as I do into my car. I'm such an old man already. (The irony of posting that last sentence on a toy forum was not lost on me, by the way) The aggrivating thing is, my dad (who, you have to understand, is a white, 55 year old technical engineer from upstate New York), during my highschool years, bought himself a lowered, 1993 Civic Si hatchback with rims and everything. Why? Because it got good gas mileage. He didn't even know it was a "cool" car at the time. I'm still upset by the whole ordeal. ;)

yeah that year caravan is known for craptacular head gaskets.
derek, that is ironic, because i wanted a 93 Si when i got my 89 DX! hahaha DaViper, thanks man. i really do miss that awesome little car. she didnt have much power, but man it handled like nobody's business! but then i did have way more money invested in suspension than engine... sold it for 4 grand. i really wish i kept it.
