How many times has something like this happened to you?
I saw Breakaway at "the wall" the other day, for 8 bux. Didn't think much of it, looked kinda goofy in fact. But then it became like that episode of the Simpson's where Homer sees the billboard for clown college and goes "pffft as if" then he sees it everywhere. Like it drilled into his subconscious and it almost becomes an obsession until he finally gives in. I went back to that walmart the next day and still saw it. Still thought "meh." By the end of that same day, however, I said "yeah I want it" .. but it was gone when I got there. ... >.< .. and now I want it even more! Same thing happened when I saw TRU exclusive Firefly at the time of the Buy one Get one sale. Such. A. Moron. You'd think I'd learn but, nope! I've seen Firefly since, but I'd feel like a chump getting it at an after market price or loose and incomplete, when I had a chance to get him new and at half off.

Yeah it happened to me with the 2-packs that come with res Roadblock and Tripwire. I found them all one day and passed, because I didn't want to spend money out of my checking account for "Toys". I wanted to use cash from tips I had made. I had one hid behind some DVD players for about two weeks. Then the day comes when I'm ready to buy. No battle stations. I told my wife this sad story. Either she dosen't get it or she doesn't care. I can't tell anymore...

I'm almost to that point with the Target Rhino. I passed on it a number of times, but now that I can't find it anywhere, all of a sudden I find myself wanting to buy it. It must be some kind of mental disorder

And 15 bucks was a great deal. But I've learned if you want it now and don't buy it it won't be easy to get later. I remember the Sigma Six Iron Mecha when they were 2 bucks at Kmart! I passed on them! Argghhhhh! |

Sometimes, as the obsession for that second guessed item grows the actual "true" want for it starts to fade.
I want to go looking for it after market or at other stores, but i think the more i think about it the less I'll truely enjoy it, if/when I get it. tanted. yeah I think i'ma regret the rhino too. I want it .. but it's too massive, so I'm pretty much decided on not getting it.

My first experience in this line with this feeling was 25th Anny SE with Timber. I had bought the 5 packs and saw SE w/Timber everywhere.
Did not want to kick off the collecting disease I have and did not get him. I had hoped to keep it to the 2-5 packs Then gave in and started buying the other guys not in the 5 packs. Had the worst time trying to find SE w/Timber. 2nd incident was Cobra Nightwatch. Saw it for 6 months, did not want it. Finally decided I did want it. Nowhere to be seen. Checked 10 different TRUs. Nada. Despite those experiences and the wasted time and gas hunting, I still make dumb decisions like that. Buy it if you see it and think you want it and then decide. As long as stores take returns and you can afford it you are good!

I did the same thing with the Walmart two packs. I was there when they opened the case, the only 12 my Walmart ever got. I didn't want to spend that much money when payday was a week away. By the time I'd talked myself into it the next day, all long gone.
