So far seems like most of us had good action figure filled Christmas mornings....ever get a gift from someone that just plain sucked?
My Godparents, who were my neighboors as a kid..man luckily they started just giving me cash..but they RELIGIOUSLY got me stuff that sucked. They're off the boat from Italy so I guess they didnt know any better...knock off Adidas jump suits, remote control cars with a wire...and lastly my all time favorite..when I was 15 I got a suitcase...wtf am I gonna do with a suitcase at 15? Good people, love em to death...but HORRIBLE Christmas gift givers! |

A roll of used duct-tape, I sh!t you not. I got it last year at the company Christmas party as a "white elephant" gift. At least it's something that I can use
Some other guy got a three-pack of picnic toothpick containers... so it could have been worse |

In college a g/f figured he's into Star Wars, why not get me an action figure. And since it's from FAO Schwartz in NYC it's more special right. It was the guy who was the spy in Mos Eisley with the snout that ratted out Luke and Han to the Storm Troopers. Terrible figure, terrible choice.
There was also the roommate I lived with for 2 years and my x-mas gift was a copy of Dead Poets Society. Um... did I ever express interest in this movie? It was hard to smile and say thanks.

Clothes or clothes related.
Suit case once and a shirt that did not do anything for me at all. It felt like it was made of velvet or something. I remember one year my grandparents got me a kids camo uniform. I was just growing out of Gijoe and playing in the yard. It was a total shock and I realized they didn't know me anymore and that I was starting to grow up. God that sucked. I think I hurt their feelings pretty bad. Never forgot that.

One Christmas the wife decided to shop for me at KIRKLAND'S (this place: Kirkland?s ? Distinctive & Uniquely Fashionable Home Décor And Affordable Gifts)!!! What was ironic was the Kirkland's at our mall back then was right by Kaybee, Camelot, Spencer's and Radio Shack.
She could not figure out why I was not smiling and made her return everything to that crappy ass store.

I'm the youngest out of 7 kids. This meant that most of my siblings have kids that are my age. With such a large family, all of the adults draw names to buy for the kids. My oldest sister got my name one year (1980s) and asked me what I liked. I told her Transformers. So, Christmas comes along and I get a box that could easily fit a Transformer. I rip it open and inside was a pair of green sweat pants with a Transformers comic strip torn from the pages of some old lady magazine. I was disappointed and confused at the same time. Who knew old lady mags had Transformers comics in them?
I know it's the thought that counts but... |

Growing up, our grandfather was notorious for getting us (my cousins, brothers and I) the worst christmas presents. But one year he outdid himself. He gave us all "Mcdonalds" coupons so we could eat on the cheap but they weren't coupons for food...they were like $5 off for some type of Mcdonalds playdough playset/toys. He just cut out some ad with the golden arches logo on it and threw it in an envelope and gave it to us all.
