My work computer is doing that when I log onto the computer network. Log in with my user name or as administrator and BAM!! reboots.

Are you doing some sort of VPN? The reason I ask is that for some reason my wife's login has a specific setting to immediately log off of the computer once you log in. I don't know why this is even an option, but it was checked. I un-checked it and it was fine. There was a window that popped up warning about logging back off, but I hit the cancel button to stop it. Then I looked at her various settings.

Its only when you run the Net huh? Obviously Norton isnt picking up your virus, so get Malware Antibytes. Should wipe it out. Then for shits n giggles, get Free Windows Registry repair, run that and defrag.

ok you ready for the bad news?
it may be a virus but most likely not. It could be a few things. first crack your case and check how dirty it is in there. especially the colling fan blades and around the processor. if its really bad unplug the pc. take a can of air and blast the shit out of it all to clean it up. it may be as simple as your comupter is overheating cause all the dirt and dust is clogging up the fans and the processor cant cool down. if that dont work its more serious. Have you done any updates to your bios? if no how long does it take to shut down? 20 minutes? 10 minutes? I know of a good virus program. Good as in it found 2 worms i had on the old hard drive that avast missed. It gives you a free 30 day trial and i would recomend it. its called kaspersky.com problem is it first requires you to take off all your other anti virus and addware stuff you may have. also it takes 10 minutes or so (depending on computer speed) to download. then it takes another 10 minutes to update the files to current. so if your computer is cycling like every 5 minutes this wont work. which leaves to if a virus is that bad it would be smarter to get a new hard drive and start from scratch. back up anything important on a flash disk. geeks.com usualy have good deals on hard drives (hit them in the morning for the best deals). This way by starting from scratch you have no viruses. next download that virus protection i mentioned above. plug your flash drive in when you are ready and it will scan it for you to make sure the virus didnt transfer to the flash drive (kaspersky is really that good, im planning on buying it when the 30 day trial is up. its way impressed me better then avast, symatec, or nortan has ever). now only thing is if it still does it it may be a mother board or processor failing (possible the power supply too) in any case its a hardware issue. I dont know how to check that and you will need to go to a tech. Or just buy another tower (geeks.com again has good deals). Get the basic one i guess and add your existing cd/dvd drives (and new hard drive), monitor, keyboard, ect to the new computer. hope this helps. let me know if you need any more info
