As some of you may know from my past posts, I'm a stay at home father with 3 boys who are 8, 5, and 3. My wife is an RN and she works 48-60 hours a week usually. The last 6 weeks or so she has only been able to get about 36 hours in due to the hospital she works at not having any extra overtime for anybody right now. So, that has really hurt us financially. We have been behind on some bills and have really had to cut costs when buying groceries. I haven't bought any Joe stuff in a few months other than when I sold some video games recently. And we spent a lot of money making sure I boys would have a nice Christmas as well. So, times have been rough.
Some of the ladies that work with my wife know how bad her not getting hours is hurting us and told me wife they wanted to buy our boys clothes for Christmas. After my wife telling them repeatedly that they don't need to do that (we don't take handouts very well), she finally caved an agreed to let them. So today when she is getting off work, 3 of the ladies meet her at her car and have about 6 bags worth of clothes and toys. My wife started crying of course because these people are just so sweet to her and always hug my kids when we go up there. Then, out of nowhere, one of them pulls out an envelope and hands it to my wife. It has $1000 in it. They said that they were discussing clothes and such and a few of the doctors overheard and wanted to help out as well. Next thing you know, about 15 people had donated money for us. I'm not one to humbled very often but this was the most amazing thing anybody has ever done for us outside of family. We have been greatly blessed this year and are so thankful for everything we have. I just hope I can help out when somebody else is in need as well when the time comes. Just wanted to share our amazing story with you guys. |
