Agreed with the rest that said it's on you if you didn't ask before hand in an e-mail. Combined shipping isn't a requirement on Ebay, and I even go as far to ask them just what their definition of combined shipping is such as a percentage off of additional items or a flat charge. I don't like surprises!
I get a little irritated when people assume things on Ebay because they happen that way typically. If someone doesn't get the rules of the particular auction in advance and still bids, well they need to be the "man" and fulfill their end of the deal. People shouldn't get to (although they do it all the time on Ebay) bid, and even worse win, and then find out all the details and decide if they want to go through with it. That's not how life works and that's not being very upstanding. All the above said, just because this guys in the right (again that's if you didn't e-mail him ahead of time) he doesn't have to be a douche about it. So I almost want you to stick him for that...haha. It might sting the pocket book a little but you will know you did the right thing. the seller wants to both combine shipping for his benefit but not provide combined shipping discounts to the buyer. the problem is, his defense is that he does not provide combined shipping, which means he cannot combine them. he states he does not have to provide combined shipping because it wasn't stated, which also means he can't force the buyer to accept a combined shipment. they are six separate transactions, his defense to not offering combined shipping discounts, and thus has to treat them like it as well himself and ship them separately. just because it is the same buyer for all six items is irrelevant, the buyer can simply allow him to do so for convenience just as much as the seller can provide the discount for convenience as well. but if the buyer does not want to offer it the seller does not have to accept it either, since neither are terms of the ocntract they entered into with the sale. you want it both ways, which is hypocritical in criticizing one but not the other. you attempt to criticize the buyer for assuming, but the seller is assuming just as much that because it is the same buyer he can ship them together. but the buyer has six separate transactions so he has to get the buyer to agree to such. not sure how you can reasonably ignore one whole side of the situation. |

Without seeing the details of the auction it is impossible to determine who is at fault. That being said if the shipping costs are a flat rate to all buyers and the seller does not combine shipping I believe you are at fault and should just pay the man and quit dealing with the seller. If the listing did say the seller would combine shipping then you have a legitimate claim. You are getting alot of advice from people to do things that if they were in your shoes they would not do.Your best course of action at this point is to complete the transaction ,leave appropriate feedback (when asked about shipping costs give the seller no stars) and tell all of us who this seller is so we can avoid their listings.Keep in mind that if you leave negative feedback for not combining shipping, when the seller makes no mention of combining shipping, you are in voilation of ebay's feedback rules and at risk of being suspended and your feedback removed anyway. That is basically the only protection sellers have from complicated, for lack of a nicer word, buyers.Always read the description carefully and DO NOT ASSUME that the seller will combine shipping on anything.

We are also only seeing one side of this conversation. It read to me like a response.I would like to see all of the communications between the two involved in this transaction.Things like these are rarely one-sided.

if this is the seller then I had a look at the page of the joe vehicles and non of them said he didn't combine shipping tho none of them said he did either . so its hard to say who's at fault here .

Pay the $60 and insist he ship the items to six different addresses (use local relatives, work addresses and friends). At the very least you'll eat into his profiuts and if the items are damaged or mis-shipped leave him nasty feedback.

this next response is if you pay with paypal.....
I noticed that recently a change has been made to paypal (as a seller). if a person pays you for 2 items at the same time but pays sepertly (shipping and all) it will not let you combine them. Ill try to explain. before lets say tom paid for order number 1. total with shipping came to 5.00. order 2 tom paid for 30 minutes later for 6.00 (including shipping). you used to be able to add 1 and 2 together and ship it using payment 1 to pay (for shipping) for them both. then you go to order 2 and just add the shipping info under the tab saying shipped. now if you try to do that it kicks you out thus making it seem you didnt ship it when you did (you added it to order 1). Now if a dispute is filed and buyer shows tracking from 1 and tell them he added both i do not know if they will take that. so point im making is pay for them in 6 seperate transactions. If the shipping service on ebay and paypal alone are the same he shouldnt be able to combine them. If he still combines them the other 5 shouldnt have a tracking number tagged to them (in paypal) thus making it look like he only shipped one order. From there ill let you figure how to connect the dots. Again i do not know if the dispute will accept his one tracking number if he says he combined so this may or may not work.
