Well I've been watching the oldschool 90's X-Men toon [just got Volumes 3 and 4 today in mail and at the moment are watching "Weapon X, Lies, and Video Tape."
That episode is one of my favorite of the oldschool series.. Though it presents Wolverine, Sabertooth, Maverick, and Silver Fox together and their connection to each other as being test subjects.... And of course where Wolverine gets his Adamantium Skeleton... But I don't know but it feels like Wolverine's backstory is very confusing....[Compared to the Comics, the Movies, and of course I think the only back story that I can follow is the one from the toon] And I loved the Crossover Episodes with the Spiderman Animated Series. So I'm just wondering if I'm not the only one who's confused by Wolverine's backstory. I mean the toon had him as part of Alpha Flight, then he went to work for Xavier and the X-Men..... But I don't think they ever really showed more of what he did before all that stuff...I know he was with Yuriko who ended up becoming Lady Deathstrike..... I'm gonna have to watch the X-Men Toon over again from the Beginning....just to try and make sense of how they did his backstory in the toon. |

I didnt even know his cartoon got that in depth. Whenever I watch cartoons, including G.I. Joe or even way back when with Spider Man & His Amazing Friends...I always enjoyed watching them, but took it at face value.
I think when you want the charecters in purist form its always in the pages of the comic book..then if you get luck with something cool like G.I. Joe you'll get an acurate figure and file card. Cartoons we're just a byproduct of all of that...but definatley enjoyable entertainment none the less....I just think cartoons and movies are catering to the massess...comics and a large number of figures are for the hardcores...like many of us here. |

Basic timeline: Weapon X (Sabretooth, Maverick, Silver Fox, etc..), Gets Adamantium skeleton, Goes nuts, Found and joined Alpha Flight, Joins X-Men
The Yuriko Thing would have been prior to Weapon X. I don't remember the cartoons, but that's how the basic timeline of Wolverine goes.

I think the movie set him at around 120. Born in the late 1800s. Sounds fair enough.

Course that Mutant Healing Ability of his is pretty cool helped Cable take down Apocalypses Plague....
That Mutant Healing Ability I wonder if was his main Ability...of course I think so since he got his Adamantium Skeleton from those government guys.... Still...a pretty interesting character Wolverine is.... |

Yes, the healing power is his mutant ability.
His bestial nature and bone claws are a secondary mutation. The government just bonded the adamantium to his skeleton.
