Death of Superman is up there. Even though he's alive now, and the event was eclipsed by the media attention, the all splash page story was actually prett sad at the end, and made you appreciate him at a time when he was considered lame among all the violent anti-heroes.
The return of Colossus was pretty great!
Death of Rorschach, who wasnt willing to compromise.
I hadnt even read the Death of Captain America before the media spoiled it for me, but I was genuinely upset and kind of irritated by it!
In Preacher, Cassidy's betrayal actually hurt me a little after I had learned to like the character so much.
Marvels, for making heroes seem so large, and Kingdom Come, for making people seem so small! The arrival of Captain Marvel at the end of KC #3 was pretty crushing.
That's all I've got now at nearly 5 am. |

but as a bat fan, reading identity crisis, when batman and robin are driving around and the get the call that tim's dad is in trouble...
bruce slams the breaks, fips a u-turn and heads for tim's house as fast as he can....
he tells barbara to call wally. but she can't get a hold of him...
tim says "please, bruce" save my dad....
but he doesn't make it in time...
good read.
and if you're a sw fan - the death of chewbacca was pretty emotional. |

That was pretty tough back in the day when we thought Scarlett was actually dead. |

Not sure why she would choose Scott over Logan. I'd let Logan plow me like a snow plow. Scott ain't hot. |
