Kyle Busch getting penalized for "unsportsmanlike conduct" was a joke. Guys have been doing that forever (not saying they should but come on) and this isnt hockey (which I like a thousand times better than NASCAR). NASCAR is so obviously biased towards Kyle it isnt funny. They try REALLY hard to screw him over every time they get a chance.

No argument there... but Knaus has A LOT to do with the 48's success IMO.

I hate the 11 and am Hendrick4Life, but I am still rooting for a new champion (hopefully the 29). LOL. But honestly, IMO Denny is not very good at handling pressure and with 4 cups under his belt the 48 will be loose as a goose without a noose in the caboose. LOL. I think during the day the 11 car will be good and when it gets dark the 48 will be up front; the only question is will he be far enough ahead to win it all.

Holy Crap, the 11 qualified 37th! Didn't see that coming, but I think he won from 39th place last year so maybe it is not a big deal... he wasn't the point leader with a tiny 15 point lead last year though. LOL.

5x.
Poor Nascar... they don't have a new champion to market and try to create some new buzz for next year... Dale Jr., the 24 and Smoke are all under-performing... Nascar is in trouble IMO.

Nascar is not in trouble. Jimmie is finally going to get the respect he deserves. Not only by winning 5 consecutive times, but from coming from behind to win this one. He was not the unstoppable force he was in past years and still won. If you ask me, Nascars other drivers better step it up. Jimmie is playing well within the rules and everyone has a level playing field. Jimmie has just proven that again he is the most consistent driver out there, and until someone else figures that out, he will remain there...

I agree, melikejinx. Like I said WAY back, when REAL race fans arent following NASCAR anymore, its trouble. I LOVE racing, but Im sick of the chase (hated the idea when the announced it) and this only proves it sucks. Jimmy has 5 straight, but he wouldnt have won 3 of them for sure if it werent for the points system. Its a joke. You want to keep a "playoff" format, fine, but rearranging the order of the points is a joke.
Im also sick of things like Harvick wrecking Kyle for "no reason". I know, I know, Ive said I like it when guys get wrecked and I do, IF they deserve it. I dont remember Kyle wrecking Kevin any time recently. If Kurt had any kind of integrity, he would have put Kevin in the wall for his little brother. NASCAR saying they are going to let the guys go at it is BS because they STILL reprimand guys, at their discretion. You wreck someone intentionally like that and theyre done, you are done for the day with a DNF too. Make any type of intentional contact a 1-5 lap penalty depending on the severity of the spin/crash. Im sick of these grown men acting like babies, giving "payback" for stuff that happened 6 months ago. NASCAR needs to do something, Jimmy winning 5 in a row will NOT bring in more fans, it will in fact make more REAL fans turn off the TV because you know whats going to happen, just like I did. Also, not knowing if your guy is going to get put into the wall for no good reason doesnt help people watch. They NEED to change things or theyll continue to lose fans, like theyve been doing. |

Bah!! Jimmy wins it again. I am so damn tired of the 48 winning all the damn time. Nascar is so damn boring that I watch cooking shows because it's the JIMMY SHOW every damn race. I swear if that fool is in the Chase next year... I refuse to even watch the next 10 races because this is becoming an epidemic. Dale Jr just plain out sucks and I have no one to really root for anymore so I might as well throw in the damn towel.

Ratings-wise... team sponsorship-wise... I think they are. 3 attempts at green white checkers... the wave around rule... double file restarts... Nascar is doing everything they can to attract viewership.

Alot of people stopped watching when Earnhardt died, or they latched on to Little E for a short time. This wasn't a problem because A LOT of new fans started watching (like me, lol) to make up for the loss. This is not the case anymore IMO. Plus, IMO current and new Nascar fans aren't like the diehard old school fans anymore either... if things get boring they will tune out. Quote:
This is true... it would help immensely if other drivers stepped up and just flat out beat the 48, but if Nascar's best plan is to hope someone steps up... they are in trouble IMO. LOL. Nascar is a business after all.

Big crew chief changes at Hendrick! The 24 gets Gustafson (YES!) and Junior gets Latarte (good match IMO, personality-wise) and the 5 gets the other guy... forget his name. LOL.
