What makes me laugh is for months it really hasn't been a big secret The Bellas have been saying pretty much anywhere that they were not re-signing their contracts so the sudden firing is really a weird turn UNLESS were being duped which is always possible WWE is getting smarter in how they run stories and they know that the internet is full of behind the scenes leaks, so the 'firing' could be a work. But even if it is true the weird part is the sudden cough up of the title from Beth to Nicki to Layla...I mean why even bother to run it through the Bellas (which is the funniest thing I have ever said as I'm sure LOTS of things have been run through the Bellas)? I mean it just seems odd. Also while the Divas division is generally less than an afterthought storywise. Who the hell did Beth Phoenix and Natty piss off? I mean Beth and Natty had a pretty good thing going with the Pin Up Strong Movement...suddenly Beth was simply missing for like three months from WWE TV, while Natty was jobbing to Alicia Fox...granted Fox deserves a push, but even that push went no where, but Beth comes back from who knows where and has had to job to a TV reporter...not even a real reporter...an entertainment trash magazine reporter and this Mania was not first time...not twice...but THIRD time she's had to job...and Natty...after that wonderful losing streak, she gets to have a string of fart jokes as a gimmick. So finally someone remembered Beth still had the belt and who does she get to lose it to? Eve who at least has some credible heat? Nope. AJ who now has her anger thing going? Nope. Fox who had some push awhile back? Nope. Kelly who at least had a win at Mania? Nope. Natty who would at least be a credible match and loss? Nope. Kharma who as I understand has had personal issues but was back at the Rumble? Nope. Layla who apparently was ready to come back? Nope. We run it through Nikki Bella before dumping it to Layla. Now don't get me wrong...I love Layla, I think she's comedy gold...and clearly she took some of her year off and learned some skills kudos to her...I'm always glad to see when someone you expect nothing from...which by the way is what I think most of us expect from like 99 out of 100 Divas, nothing...actually learns the craft. I like to call it the Trish Stratus effect...really no one expected anything from Trish who was literally brought in for little more than to look good, but could end up being one of if not THE best overall Diva to ever grace the WWE's ring (looks, moves, mike skills she had it all) (also a nod to Lita who did nearly as well). So I'm hoping Layla does well...she's started off well. But overall the Divas division is a flaming mess...is, was, and has been since Trish retired. Micki James and Victoria (TNA's Tara) showed promise but they didn't do much with either before so much so that Victoria left and Micki was written into obscurity (although Micki did have some personal issues what with her real life affair with Cena which she wouldn't let go after it was done). Anyway here's to hoping the Divas get back on track. |

Either Lesnar was warned out his "fighting" since he botched moves twice with Cena and split him open both times and went easy on HHH or Lesnar really doesn't like Cena and did those punches and elbows intentionally to him.

411mania.com: Wrestling - Paul Orndorff Slams Bret Hart, Warrior, Ric Flair And More
-"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff was a guest on Inside The Ropes' 15th episode, where he talked about several topics and slammed a few legendary wrestlers. His interview stars 42 minutes, 20 seconds in. On facing Ric Flair for the NWA World Title in 1982: "He was just another body. Some are better than others. I believed in making it look real. I was probably hard to work with because I wanted it to make real and I knew how to wrestle." On working the first Wrestlemania in the main event: "It was special. There were so many people. It was the largest crowd to ever watch it. And then the pay per view of it was just ungodly. This was my opportunity to be really noticed and be seen. My paycheck….it was huge. I made more money in that 30 minutes than I did in a whole year with the NWA. People expected it and they were gonna get it from me." On working with Mr. T: "I wasn't crazy about it. I was very protective WrestleMania 1of the business. I was taught that. You take care of it. You don't give out all your trade secrets. But then again you look at somebody like Ric Flair and you can say how can you hide something when they look like that? So I guess I started to give in a little bit." On the transition in WWF from wrestling to entertainment in the 1980s: "It depends on your personality. I protected it. To me that wasn't protecting it. As you can see right now, because they didn't protect it, where it is now, there's only two shows now. Look how many there was, there was one in every state, now look where it is." On Vince using bigger guys like Warrior: "I thought it was the worst move they could've made. Vince did it on purpose. He did it so he could be the only one." On Warrior: "He never paid his dues. You gotta pay your dues, go and learn your trade that'll make it better when you are on that big stage. It's called experience and nobody has any now, because there's nowhere to go to get it." On giving the belt to smaller stars like Savage and Bret: "No. Absolutely not. It's like putting the belt on someone who wants to be a wrestler. It didn't work. It downgraded, made the belt worthless. When Terry Funk, Harley Race had world titles, it meant more." On the rumor that Hogan wouldn't drop the belt to Bret in 1993: "I don't blame him. I wouldn't have either. Bret Hart was a nobody from Canada and Hogan was the greatest star in wrestling. I don't blame him. He did the right thing." He also gave some quick fire thoughts on several wrestlers: -Ultimate Warrior: "I gotta go to the bathroom………………..NEXT!" -Vince McMahon: "One of a kind." -Hulk Hogan: "Great." -Bret Hart: "I don't care much for Canadians." -Randy Savage: "OK." -Ric Flair: "A Joke."

I have to agree a little bit with Orndorff about the guys that have held the "world title."
Look in the 1980s and you had Backlund, Sheik, Hogan, Andre and Savage. I think most would agree there is no complaints against any of those (maybe the Sheik if any) but those were the elite of the elite during their time. The sport has changed so much and I can only imagine Orndorff's feelings on the number of guys that have held the top spot today. Me personally there are a handful of guys that should have the WWE or World Heavyweight title today. Cena, Orton, Punk are the first ones to come to mind on the current roster. Any of those 3 can be a "franchise QB" so to speak. Guys like Miz, Ziggler, Bryan, Henry etc would have been mid-cardders in the 1980s era of Hogan-Andre etc yet they have been in the "top spot" discussion. Give the era of fewer men holding the top spot for longer reigns then this change titles every other week deal that is going on now.

He thinks Warrior was pushed up because he was big but didn't pay his dues, so was a mistake, he says. Yet Bret paid his dues and more, but was a bit small, and this guy thinks he sucked, partially because he was Canadian and Canadians suck. Very logical. He likes it to be real, yet he thinks more of Hulk Hogan than Flair? I personally think Hogan is one of the worst "wrestlers" of all-time, but boy could he get the crowd into it. Dude's probably just senile.
