I can't believe there are people in the wrestling world who think that promo is for Undertaker or Awesome Kong. I mean, Taker, I can understand why people would think of him because of the coat, but Kong? Get out of here, that is just stupid to think.
Reason why it isn't Taker: he ALWAYS just returns at random (and usually around WM time). People know this so it would make 0 sense to be hyping the return of Undertaker because no one would care. Sting makes WAY more sense....one of the biggest wrestlers of all time coming to WWE? Obvious reason to hype and make a cool promo like that. People are shitting their pants already. I know that the WWE has been worried about what they were going to do with the Undertaker and are looking for someone really good to put up against him, if they haven't done that they might be hyping his return just so that there is a general excitement about him and it won't matter who else is in the match, just a thought |

I agree with you that bringing in Sting makes way more sense and would be really amazing to see. I'm just not sure if it's going to happen, it's almost one of those too good to be true type of things.

The rumor mill however has been running rampent that the guest host for Mania might be Sting...which would be cool but I'd be pretty suprised if it was. |

My thoughts are that Taker is returning but the promo is still for Sting...it's a good way to throw people off with the announcement that Taker is returning so they think the video is for him and then BAM, Sting shows up, starts a feud with Taker, and we get Sting and Taker at WM. IMO, the legs and shoes in the vid look too small to be Taker.

They always hype up an Undertaker return, as if people forget who he was or something.
After Monday's updated promo, I'm almost sure it's Taker. The "Ain't No Grave" song - they used it last year with him and Shawn, and the last time we saw him, it was in a Buried Alive match. If that's the tie in, maybe that means we'll get Wade/Taker at Mania since I think The Nexus did help Kane win the Buried Alive match.

At least we aren't getting a fake Taker and then a search for the real Undertaker....RIP Leslie Nielson.
It's the Undertaker.....but what I read on another site really makes me scratch my head. It was reported that WWE brass are kicking around a Career vs Streak with HHH vs. Taker with Shawn Michaels as the guest ref.......that would be horrible. Absolutely no build-up or any sense doing this. HHH comes back right before Mania and challenges Taker to this....dumb. Either way why have HHH come and lose and retire like this or even worse ending the streak. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. |

I don't think it will be career vs Streak, but I can easily imagine Taker vs HHH at Mania simply because of the lack of marquee matches. Wade Barrett vs Taker was scrapped, Sting (if he does come to the WWE) probably wouldn't be asked to job in his first WWE match nor is it likely a guy who spent his entire career outside of the WWE would be given the honor to end the streak, so scratch that idea. So with both WWE title matches featuring unproven main eventers, it's likely they'll want to find some kind of match up between two main stays, and HHH makes since. Also add in the fact that both guys will be returning at the same time, and instead of one guy's return overshadowing the other's it would also make sense to have them share the spotlight.

If HHH returns, and faces Taker at WM, it'd be an awesome matchup, but it would also suck for Sheamus, since that was his best chance at having a high profile match at Wrestlemania. Otherwise, I imagine Sheamus will be tossed in the MITB match. While MITB is by no means a low profile match, it's not something that suits his style.

They could go totally left field, have Lawler win the title and Sheamus win the elimination chamber and give Lawler that Wrestlemania match for the title. Neither title match would draw shit, but Cena vs Taker would be huge. |
