I can't stand the way Sports works.
I'd love to apply for a Job, get hired, tell my employer that eh...I don't feel like working and/or attending training...then call back in a Month and say "hey, I'm ready now!" He phoned in his entire season with the JETS. I can't stand this guy and now he's here, in MN. Doesn't matter at the end of the day though. GO GIANTS!

Brett Favre is the reason I got into football, but his behavior the last couple of years has been horrible.
He went a couple of years stringing the Packers along with his "will he/won't he" retirement. Was 3 seasons of that. That's no way to be a good teammate, that hinders the development of the franchise. Now instead of looking long term with their drafting and free agency, they have to go each year thinking it's Favre's last and breaking the bank to get the stuff around him for "one last go" at the SB. Which is not the way to run a franchise. And then to retire, let the team get their plans in motion for carrying on without him, and come out of retirement and expect to everything to be the same? Ugh.. And I love Favre. The guy is fun to watch. There are fans that have been a big problem and made asses of themselves over the whole Brett Favre thing, but Brett himself has not helped either. It's a 2-way street and it's not just Brett's fault. We don't know exactly what has been said behind closed doors in GB between him and the management. The media is not a help with stuff like this either. I think he got the shitty end of the stick in NY too though, last year was the best the Jets have played in how long? Right!

I hope Favre does well. A career ending Superbowl for one of the all-time greats would be nice. I hope he doesn't tarnish his legacy or embarass himself.
As far as my team goes... Josh McCown will be starting for the Panthers by the end of the season. Two reasons: 1- He wants it more than Jake. 2- Truthfully, he's better than Jake. I'm not bashing Delhomme, but he is at best a mediocre quarterback at this stage of his career and gets too frustrated with himself when his lack of ability can't get it done. The Panthers were very short-sighted to sign him to a long term deal. He's been an okay quarterback, and a fantastic personality since he's been with the Panthers, but with Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad at reciever, Carolina should lead the NFL in passing. Just because you find someone likeable doesn't mean they should lead your offense. I believe John Fox is a good coach, and Carolina is lucky to have him, but if he doesn't get something done this season, I think he will be coaching elsewhere. |

I've gotten sick of the hoopla, but as a Vikings fan I'm kinda glad to have another option at QB.
