That Pats D was horrible, simply horrible.
The Saints have a chance to go 16-0, better then Indy. Indy will wrap up homefield advantage and rest guys and probably lose a couple at the end. Because Vikings are so good and only 1/2 game behind the Saints, the Saints will have to keep playing to match to the Vikes and will have to keep playing Brees and Co.

so heres my playoff bracket prediction for the wild card round(NFC):
#3 Arizona vs #5 Green Bay #4 Dallas vs #6 New York Arizona playing against Green Bay will be a lot closer than many would think. Although The Packer defense hasn't exactly been up to par with their pre-season expectations, i forsee the pass defense being very stiff for Kurt Warner. As the second half opens up, Arizona will slowly break away from the Packers until the score gets unreasonable. As for the Dallas game, well they will continue to have December/January woes. The Giants will protect Eli from Demarcus Ware and company, leaving him time to find open receivers. We all know what happens when Eli finds open receivers, just ask Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith. Tony Romo and Roy Williams won't back down however, the score will stay close and eventually go into overtime. I see Eli reenacting his Superbowl XII drive and advancing into the second round. Onto the divisional round: I have #1 New Orleans thrashing the Cardinals, as the Arizona secondary wont even have time to blink before the Saints score. The Saints underrated defense will slam the door on Ely Manning with Darren sharper and company feeding off of turnovers, making it necessary for New York's "fantastic" run rushing attack to beat them. This leaves Minnesota to play the giants. It's funny how my brackets worked out since the Vikings would have to play the Giants two times in a row. This one will be another blow out as I'm sure everyone would assume. Antwaan Winfield will be back and the Vikings defense will have no visible holes at all. with a stout defense and superb offense and electrifying special team attack, this is a perfect storm on all phases. And finally the NFC Championship. This one may cause some controversy. I have #1 New Orleans vs #2 Minnesota. This is a fantastic game, as both teams have explosive and diverse offenses. The score board will likely catch fire, not to discredit either defense, but with rules aimed to assist the offense in this day and age, I predict Favre and Brees to get some serious air miles. The game is full of stars, but i think the game breakers are going to be Favre and Brees obviously, but also Winfield and Peterson.Although Peterson Hasn't been as productive as fans expected, I KNOW he will break out of his shell by and at this game. He will know and adapt to the packages defenses have been throwing at him, and he is just incapable of having a mediocre game for such a long time, especially with such talent. The other game breaker is a bit of a surprise for some. It's the entire Minnesota defense. Yes, they can stop the run, but they are also a very fast and opportunistic secondary. The key will be the nordic front four getting pressure allowing a full set of defensive backs. This will cause DB's like Cedric Griffin and Lock Down corner Antwaan Winfield to take advantage of a young (but mature) receiving corps.Although this game could go either way, I have the Vikings winning and advancing to their 4th Superbowl. |

I agree with New Orleands and Minnesota as the #1 and #2 seeds. But Minnesota will not make it to the Championship, let alone the Super Bowl.

If I had to pick right now going on what we've seen at this point and records? No doubt its Saints and Vikings in the NFC championship...HOWEVER..and this is big...when we get to the 1st round of playoff ball...everything can change so lets see who we got left.
1. Dont count Philly out..they always sneak in and make a run (and thats about it...trust me I'm an Eagle fan) 2. The North belongs to the Viks...BUT..Green Bay is still alive, that could prove dangerous. 3. I have no faith in Dallas... 4. I have no fear of anything in the NFC West...but eventually the 49ers will be good. 5. Matt Ryan had his sophmore slump and the south totally goes to the Saints...Atlanta was there one worthy rival in the south and thats a done deal. AFC...If I had to pick today? Colts and Chargers Ok, Chargers could be replaced with the...Pats...Bengals...and maybe the Titans? 1. AFC east is shot...Jets blew it, Dolphins are mediocre at best, Bills are a joke and this is a new state of Pats football..that has NO D! 2...North, Steelers are hurt and I think theyre time has come. Bengals actually started playing like a real team and with their division and record are a potenial threat...Ravens...nah. 3. South...C'mon man..its the Colts, the Titans put Vince Young back in and Jeff Fischer is gonna keep his job cuz of it. The Texans are hanging on by the skin of their nuts and shouldve beat the Colts. Tons of humble talent on that team too bad they cant get it together. 4. West is all about Chargers and Denver...Denver taking 2 steps back and SD all of the sudden putting shit together...who knows. My upset of the week?.....Wanna see how pumped up the Redskins are gonna be against the Saints?....Something has to give and it will...it wont cover a spread or anything, but the last 2 games they played very well...this game is gonna be the one where they do something right. Saints streak ends on Sunday. Sounds crazy?..watch. Last edited by PitViper; 12-03-2009 at 09:36 PM.. |

Any Arizona fans on here? Is your man Warner going to make to the Sunday night showdown with the Vikes?

i see where youre coming from, but big daddy the saints and vikings are extremely similar teams. the vikings have an x-factor that no other team has. not to mention the defense that has been on television in recent weeks has been banged up. i expect a toss up for the nfc championship, unless some how the saints loose their home field advantage. if that happens the vikings are a shoe in for the supper bowl contender, and likely champion
