Thunderdan, please buy game tickets like all the other good little Red Wings fans... its safer that way.
Man removed from rafters at Detroit Red Wings' game - ESPN Re: Joe Sakic He truly was a top notch classy hockey player. Some of the best years were when the Wings and Avs rivalry was red hot. Joe's class was only matched by Claude Lemieux's lack of it... but he got his and Joe got a couple rings, which he deserved more than most who have them. |

Im gonna miss Joe Sakic. One of the classiest,
best players to ever lace up the skates. He had the best wrist-shot you'll ever see. We'll miss you Super Joe! :( Success doesn't 'start at the top' - it' starts at the 'bottom', with the players, players like joe sakic. Check out his retiement speech....you can tell he loves the game: NSP Quote:

That was back when Hockey was good...Not the trash today where Gaborik has to fight Carcillo because of the emo enforcer rules

And after this year he might be gone too. Other than Sakic and Modano, Joe Nieuwendyk was one of my favorite players to watch. There's only a few players out there that have that rare combo of skill, clutch play, and class.
The weird thing for me now is the players ages. Sports stars have always been older than me in the past, easier to look up too. Even in the case of Mike Modano who is a couple of years older (big brother age). Heroes, role models, heck I've got a pretty good snap shot after trying to copy Nieuwendyk for so many years. Now, they're all pretty much getting younger than I am. It still fun to watch their wicked skill, but its hard to look up to some 22 year old, much less wear his jersey. Just feels weird. That's just me I guess. |

I don't really care about Gabby any more and certainly not about the Rangers, but Daniel Girardi is one of my most despised players now after that game. Hell, Sean Avery was the only one to show any guts later on. Nice team.
