i was looking through older threads on here and saw the 'anyone famous collector(s)' thread or whatever... so i thought I'd do it from this side of the coin... and since I'm super bored i thought i'd post a thread about it:
so who have you met, do you know, or have had dealings with..... even if they are only slightly famous or considered "famous" in a particular scene, culture or setting. Who do you know personally. Brag and name drop away... just be cautious cuz you never know who REALLY knows them and will ask them if they've ever heard of you...hahahahahhah. Also include any dealings, or contact you've had with famous people even if you never got to meet them face to face. Personally: John B (UK dj), Derrick Carter (dj), Felix Da Housecat (dj/producer), Gein (dj's/producers), Joseph Wambaugh (novelist), Paul Hoover (poet), General Malice (dj/producer), Dylan (dj/producer), Tech Itch (dj/producer), Eric Zich (my brother. is the movement/body/green screen double for a portion of the Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance game), Daniel Pasina (Johnny Cage Mortal Kombat series...lived in my mom's 3 flat). Met and hung out with when I worked at Tower: The Misfits, Joe Strummer (RIP), most of the Ramones (RIP) Poets I've published as an editor: Stan Rice (RIP), Clayton Eshleman, Amiri Baraka, Elaine Equi, Diane DuPrima met: too many to list, mostly dj's or producers or musicians or poets. (Andy C, Pendulum, Dieselboy, Ministry etc)

When I worked at the Canadian Border as a Customs Officer I met OJ Simpson!
Charlie Murphy was right.. he does have a huge head!! Ive also met Mario Lemieux and Dave Anderchuck (nhl players) And I worked on a film made for the Space network and it starred Kevin Sorbo (used to play Hercules and was also in Andromeda) Ive met the bands Hawthorne Heights Silverstein and Bayside and of course ... HULK HOGAN! he was signing books, not mo personal autographs as I went up to him he calls out "WELL LOOK AT THIS HULK-A-MANIAC!" I had on a hulk-a-mania shirt I shook his hand told him I grew up watching him asked me my name, told him Nick.. to which he replied "no way! thats my sons name!" pulls my book back and writes: To Nick, From, Hulk Hogan! soo cool!

I work in the Television and Film Insdustry so I have met and worked with so many celebrities I cannot remember them all. I guess since I'm in the business it doesn't really count.
When I was younger though I worked in Manhattan at Hallmark store that a friend of mine used to own. My friend owned 2 locations. One was down the block from FAO Schwartz and the other one was across the street from the Ed Sullivan theater where David Letterman does his show. Celebrities used to come into the stores all of the time. In fact I used to have to run errands for Dave's show from time to time when he would place orders with us. The nicest guy that I remember who would come in often was Ernie Hudson (who played Winston from Ghostbusters as well as other roles). He used to come in to buy Beanie Babies for his daughter. Another Ghostbusters cast member who would come in frequently was Rick Moranis. He used to wear very dark sunglasses so that no one would recognize him. You don't even realize how short the guy is until you see him in person. He wasn't that friendly and would pretty much keep to himself. I never bothered anyone of them for an autograph or anything like that. I wouldn't even talk to them about what they did, or mention that I liked their work. I would just treat them like any other customer. Ernie Hudson was way cool though. He was stick around for awhile and just talk about everyday regular stuff. I never mentioned his movies or anything. I think they respect that.
