words and calling people idiots because they have different tastes is a good argument? GI Joe is a toy, if a film was absolute ARAH based, it would show some kids playing with toys. No one has said be happy with what you get. They have said that things change, that it is OK to go into something with an open mind, and that we are talking about toys and light entertainment, which is not really a big deal. Kevin And oh yea, I remember the cartoon being ALL about kids playing with the toys...little jimmy and the sky striker and his misadventures with the blender and mommys pot stash! Moe with the gimpy leg, having his Rattler adventure on newly paved driveways and that wonderful ending in the emergency room...how could I have forgotten these timeless classics. Not sure it was you who said it before, but someone already made that sort of comment in something else...it wasn't that clever then either. But I'll agree in one thing, it's not a big deal really, we'll just have to wait another 15 or 20 so odd years and see if they'll get it all right that time around. *watches calender* Quote:
Whatever plot they come up with to follow the last one certainly wouldn't save it, nudity all around...but hey aren't the transformers already technically nude? Last edited by Da Boz; 08-01-2009 at 05:42 PM.. |

Well, it was pretty much edging on porno in the second so, I'd go ahead and hold my breath for that to happen. Whatever plot they come up with to follow the last one certainly wouldn't save it, nudity all around...but hey aren't the transformers already technically nude? Depends on ages, mine may be younger than yours, however, it was totally uncalled for. It gives me optomism that ROC may be better than TF ROTF.

Again, Xhairs, it's coming down to opinions on what makes a "real" fan and what makes "crappy" Joe product.
You think a real fan is someone that would rather have the brand end on a high note (opinion btw, what's a high note for you isn't necessarily the same for others) then come out with something "crappy" (again, another opinion, what's crappy for one isn't crappy for others). I think a real fan is someone that wants the brand to survive and stay on the shelves and be there for everyone to enjoy in one form or the other, even if the current version isn't something they particularly personally like (which is of course, an opinion again, as likes/dislikes are complete and total opinions). So really, which is a real fan of the franchise? One would rather have their version then no version, even if it meant the franchise disappeared. That's a real fan??? If I don't like it, I'm not going to support it with my money, but I'm glad that Hasbro is trying to keep the Joe name alive. I want my grandsons and great grandsons to walk into a toystore (or hover, or teleport, or virtual reality walk or whatever they end up doing in the future) and be able to pick up a G.I. Joe product. I want them to come home and go "Grampy, look what I got" and be able to talk to them about my Joe and the origins of the franchise and what's different from then to now.

Sure it is, everyone else was doing it long before you got here! Heh,

I hate to say this but an opinion does not need facts to back it up.
I am legit, I am a person with an opinion. You cannot quash my right to free thought and speech. You are not the legit police and I was not aware that I had to come to this board or any board with credentials...it's an opinion....geez you should look up the definition of the word and ponder it a moment. Its an opinion. And you can bring facts to anyone and they will be in dispute, just because you did some vague 10 second research and one source tells you it was the highest grossing movie to date this year dont make that so. It's not a fact, it's speculation. Check many independent sources or more and see if they are all reporting the same identical thing. You're not offering anything to the discussion by nit picking my statement and offering no relevant comment to the discussion at hand. If you take a look at Dark Knight, you will see a movie of Epic proportions. Sure alot of people went to see TF2 and good for you all...but review after review and FACT after FACT says this movie sucked...and I can say with absolute certainty that the toy line is sucking too at least in my area, TF toys are virtually untouched, still packed to the end of the pegs day in day out...no one is buying and I frequent these places enough to see if even one figure sells. Sure they get looked at, but no collector, no parent, not even a kid is buying them. Bakugan now...that shit flys off the shelves. Enough FACT for you? TF2 was a horrible disjointed movie that was a disrespect to Transformers itself. Dogs humping, fem bots and transformers walking with canes...geezus what will they think of next??? Accelerator suits for Gi Joes? Why not call it GI Joe the Real American Super Hero! This is how you make money? This is how you alienate fans. Not all, maybe not many but some and quite possibly many. There are alot of fans out there that dont frequent this board and it would be ignorant for us to assume that what this board collectively thinks is even remotely a gauge for the world in general. Look at it from a Drug perspective, so you got crack and you sell crack...you want repeat customers and you want new customers...why would you dis your repeat customers that are loyal and keep your muny coming in? Then you go and spice up your crack and the loyal customers say yick, this shits bad, but the new customers are lapping it up. Now suppose that spice was something that made it 2 times as potent and kills your new customer on the first OD? Thats whats happening with these kids...DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK that kids will be hooked on TF2 or GI Joe next year? They'll move on...if you re-envision yet again you run the risk of no one catching on to the change and liking it. I did more than "10 seconds" of research. I always get at least three sources of info, to make sure they all agree with each other. The money TF2 has made is not up for debate. It's fact, pure and simple. YOU do the research. It's readily available for all to see. All your drug talk was too much to get in to...I have no interest in it anyway. I was only pointing out info on the TF movie. Check it out. Good luck.

I wouldn't call The Incredible Hulk movie a failure. I liked it a lot! Now the Ang Lee Hulk movie, well, that was what I call fail.
I liked the TMNT CGI film that came out a few years ago and thought it was actually pretty good. You know, until FCBD this year I had never read any of the original TMNT comics so I grew up with the toon and loved it. Now that I'm older though and have been exposed to the comic I would love to see a movie that reflected the comics and stayed away from the kid friendly toon since I think it's a LOT better! As for Transformers, I really liked both movies. Optimus was the man in my mind, whether it was comics, toons, movies, whatever and that fact became even more cemented after watching him battle to the "death" with six decepticons at one time. That was SOOO cool. But I grew up on G1 transformers and that will always be the stuff to me, although I really got into TFAnimated. I think a big part of the reason why is because it was something my daughter and I watched from the beginning and it was special because it was like sharing one of my most beloved properties from my childhood to the next generation. It had a lot of G1 references/nods and that made it that much cooler. Of course I did pick up the first season of the G1 series recently so I'll definitely be sharing that with my daughter too. Bottom line is, we all like different stuff and just because you personally think something is a failure, and even if you can argue your point intelligently and passionately, does not mean that everyone else thinks it is a failure.
