I am hyperlexic and read constantly, I usually go through a few books a week. I thought it would be cool to have a recomendations thread to get some ideas on new books. I tend to read a lot of sci fi, horror, true crime.
Some I read recently that were good: Monster by A Lee Martinez The Talisman by Stephen King ( my go to book I read it at least 2 times a year since 1990) The Odd Thomas books by Dean Koonts Get in the Van by Henry Rollins |

If you enjoy dark humor, I recommend Christopher Moore.
"It's a Dirty Job" "Bloodsucking Fiends" (and it's sequel "You Suck") "Practical Demonkeeping" Are all a blast... And the Dexter books are good too. |

I really like the dark humor so I will check those out.
The Talisman got me into the Gunslinger books which lead to reading most every SK book made. I use to have a list but almost everybook he has written ties in some way to the gunslinger. I liked WWZ also and have been searching for other good zombie books. |

the Coldfire triolgy by CS Friedman is a fantastic read. IT consists of Black Sun Rising, When True Night Falls and Crown of Shadows. probably one of my favorite trilogies. Also warrior, wanderer and the thrid book Witch by Donald E McQuinn are pretty good to. Tough to find though they are a good read.

Didn't like Coldfire. Read the first book and tried the 2nd. No good.

The 2nd book was a lil on the lull but i loved the back story parts about when the colonists first landed and all that. The third book though you really should check out...it wraps everything up nicely.
