Our govenor shut down the state two weeks ago and our employer sent us home as we were not an essential business. Our govenor extended the lockdown for our state an additional two weeks today and my employer sent out mass texts that we need to return to work now as we are under "new" guidelines considered essential business. As far as I am aware, the company still does the same thing it did before. Funny how that works...

So I gave it a listen and I lasted 52 minutes before turning it off. I’m not too familiar with Alex Jones but I can say some of what he is saying is ambiguous and double speak jargon. Sounds like he is using terms that most aren’t familiar with in order to prove his point. I’m guessing he is not someone who works in this field for a living and I don’t know where he is pulling these “documents” from that he claims to have. I tried to look some of them up but I couldn’t find anything to substantiate his claims. My advice is don’t listen to everything you hear but if you are interested in more information to understand it, listen to the experts. Not newscasters or podcasters but members from the CDC or an official organization with a background in epidemiology.
On a lighter note, there are reports of how the virus is significantly slowing in China. That’s great news but don’t expect that here for a while. Just keep hanging in there everyone and find ways to maintain your resilience. Entertaining like the UFO or ghost related "Unsolved Mysteries" segments are.. in short doses. Too much is poisonous.

It's a music instrument/ audio store. We were deemed "essential" under the caveat of selling "video and audio electronics".

I will say he is well spoken and is a master of using words to manipulate other people. For this guy to be around for what he claimed in that link of 14 years, he must have been right about some things in the past but it seems more like chance than actual knowledge.

Hmm... doesn’t sound like it’s “essential” to me. I’d like to hear the reasoning and justification for the change.

and since a large portion of business is via internet, "distribution center" guidelines are also applicable I guess. shrugs...

I'd say that in these crazy times, with everyone shuttered in, entertainment is almost as essential as food. All work and no play, etc. That being said, I hope they have your safety in mind.

I wouldn't say they disregard our safety, but keeping the money flowing in is surely the priority, and I get that. It just seems from a political standpoint, the state tries to look like the good guys doing the safe thing, yet giving every loophole imagineable. It is the classic illusion of security.

I keep wondering when these morons are going to wake up and quit playing politics, now isn't the time. I have this nagging suspicion that everything that makes us the Greatest Nation on Earth® is slowly fucking us here, and the unfortunate alternative is a police state. Rock and a hard place. I'd say more, but I'd like to keep to site rules a bit.

How do you know Alex Jones isnt right? Opinion or facts? Just asking. I like to be the Devils Advocate. You claim false, and by what right?
