The end of my shift cable on my 2011 equinox where it connects to the shift arm of the transmission under the hood had a cap on it that secured it. The prongs that secure the cap broke off so not it does not stay on. At the moment I am using zip ties to hold it on. I dont think that is a good long time solution so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I called the dealer and I can get another shift cable for 55 bucks. I dont need the whole cable just the cap which comes with the cable cause gmc doesnt sell just the cap. Figures. I dont want to spend the 50 just for a little cap if I dont have to. I was thinking about using something called goop that is used for fixing things like this to secure it but leave the zip ties to help kind of like rebar in concrete. I also thought about putting a zip tie through the end of it where it goes on the bolt and securing it to the arm and then using some goop to secure it to the arm. I was worried though about if I went through the hole that would interfere with the connection. Any car people with ideas? thanks.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ift+cable,8528 The price is $32.89 plus shipping ($8 FedEx, $9 USPS). It's still not a $1-$2 fix, but this is better than dealership prices. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=1446751&jsn=8

best bet and what helped me alot is look online at the chevy forums, you might find a solution and or find someone with the parts for sale ,ie a sponsor of said website that might sell the parts you need at a discount. Just a thought
