I guess this is where I'd post something like this? I wanted to introduce myself before I started popping up in different parts of the forums LOL.
You can probably tell by the name I'm a fan of GI Joe even before the Real American Hero days of my childhood. I'm generally a mark for anything to do with superheroes and I was shocked to learn one of my favorite Golden Age Fawcett Comics characters was reimagined in the GI Joe 12 inch line towards the end of the original run. The Adventure Team to me was always something I'd hoped to see explored again in some capacity, but as far as I know it hasn't been touched in years. The recent Toys That Made Us documentary series on Netflix opened my eyes to a lot more of the history of GI Joe and I was so glad to finally find this place. I remember watching the show back in the 80's as a kid, and seeing Sergeant Slaughter go from the WWF to GIJoe along with the Fridge from the NFL! All of those 80's cartoons were a big part of my childhood.... He-Man, Silverhawks, Thundercats, Voltron, etc. were all good in my eyes. My father was in the Marines during Vietnam and I've had a couple brother in-laws who were in the military [Green Beret and Army], as well as an older nephew who served in the Army during the time of the 9/11 stuff and recently retired. A younger nephew recently joined the Navy as well. GI Joe to me has always been about more than the toys, the cool codenames, and everything else... but the fact that it showed the world that there are real heroes fighting for us each and every day. So.... there any other Adventure Team fans out there or am I in the minority? |

Welcome to the Tank! While I can't say that I am big AT fan myself I appreciate their part in the Gi joe mythos. I Know there are a few fans on here as I remember seeing some Kick ass customs in 4in scale. Also a couple years back Bulletman was the Custom Class figure at Joe Con.
