The NY Post article - not Hasbro - is what's quoted in the actionfigurejunkies.com article. The NY Post article also states that Hasbro currently only sources 1/3 of its merchandise from China. My guess? Hasbro is using this as an excuse to move to a lower-wage country without getting bad press for it.

Yeah, I noticed that a lot of Transformers stuff has Made in Vietnam when The Last Knight products came out a couple of years ago.

I was just thinking that Hasbro was looking for a cheaper place to do business. I doubt those jobs are coming here, it’d be pretty cool if they were.

those jobs definitely aren't coming to america. Hasbro couldn't maintain their profit margins while paying american wages.

There seems to be this idea that anything made in China is a cheap piece of garbage. It’s just like any other country, you can get good quality stuff, you just have to pay a lot more for better QA. I don’t think it’s the tariff thing at all, I think now that China has cornered the world’s flip-flop market, it’s moving on to more expensive goods that bring in a lot more revenue.
