you take the good and you take the bad. Personally, as cheesy as it sounds when I was a teenager he was the cats ass! i dont know if he did the bad things, but i know what good he did, and that was music that will be remembered for aome time. and remember he was only human, and he will be missed.
so in honor of his passing, I'll grab my crotch, make a high pitched music noise and remember my generations Elvis Presley.

Thank you, Viper.
I've read through 24 pages and I've seen a LOT of ignorance.
To those of you who still think he's guilty, I advise you to do some more research into the accuser's credibility and find out about how the accuser actually ADMITTED that it was all just made-up and totally fabricated to extort money.
His story is a tragic one. First of all he had no childhood. No peers his age, very little public schooling with friends, always on stage, not much playing with toys as we loved to with Joes, an abusive father, struggling with deep emotional issues for most of his life, then dealing with greedy pieces of **** later in life, lots of hangers-on giving him bad advice, hearing joke after joke about him and his freakish appearance (which, by the way was a result of trying to get himself to look less and less like his abusive father), to the changing music scene, and the struggle with chemical dependency, and then the last court case against him which was started by someone with HIGHLY questionable credibility (you should look into the mother...she also tried to sue JC Penney after shoplifiting from them she accused one of their security guards of raping her in the parking lot...this was just before the MJ case), and then now as he was trying to prepare for the new concert tour after all these years and all the millions of dollars invested in him. His life was tragic, and we benefited from it.
But I won't say anymore because like Viper said, we need to keep this as solely a respectful tribute and not about the "controversy".
Honestly, I'm still in shock. I feel sort of numb. I think in the next couple of days and weeks (especially the funeral)....I'm gonna break down.
Michael Jackson made a huge impact on my life, as he did for most of those in my generation. I will never forget 1982-84 and being totally addicted to my Thriller tape and wearing my multi-zippered jacket, pretending to be him while listening to "Baby Be Mine" and "PYT" on my portable tape player.
I'll never forget the night of the Motown 25 special and watching him debut the moonwalk live and watching him at the American Music Awards and the Grammys. The Thriller era was unbelievable and incredible and the era I look back at most fondly in my life, even before I fully got into Joes.
It's just a damn shame what happened to the man in recent years. He was vindicated in a court of law (and honestly, like I said, if you actually take the time to see what REALLY went on, you'll understand the truth), but yet still he had that f'n stigma because he looks like a freak. But regardless of his looks, the man was truly great and compassionate and generous and talented and will live on in my heart for as long as I live.
Not only will he live on with me, but in the next generations as well. My 8 year old daughter is a big MJ fan and I had a really difficult time breaking this news to her tonight. We watched his music videos all night as well as a video of one of his "Bad" tour concerts.
I remember as a kid telling myself that I wanted to see him live in concert at least one time before I die. Well, obviously that'll never happen now and it sucks. I heard rumors recently that with the success of his UK ticket sales that he was contemplating having a few shows here in the US as well. I was hoping to catch one of them. :(
God bless you, Michael. Thank you for everything you gave us. Your music will live on with us forever.
One last thing....I'm a nightclub DJ and you can bet your asses I'll be spinning Michael Jackson tracks in heavy rotation all weekend and for the foreseeable future.
Rest in peace, Mike. No longer will you have to worry about all the extortionists, the hate, or the pain. I wanna see you do the moonwalk in heaven one of the days, Mike. God bless you and I thank you for enriching my life here on earth.

MachineGunEtiquette, I love that you are a Joe fan, but you are also ignorant. Please do more research about his psychology and the accusers. This man was in tons of pain. He was a performer since age 10. Yes, he was a freakish looking character. But look at the reasons behind the surgeries and look at the accuser's statements and their credibility.
This man was filled with self-loathing and he was never satisfied with how he looked and it's tragic because it affects how people feel about him today, whether he was innocent or not.

Michael Jackson is dead? That's a terrible loss!
Michael's 142 career saves, 3.42 ERA and 17 seasons in the big leagues made him a fan favorite during his tenure with the Mariners and Indians. Rest in Peace.

anyway, I am with you. As famous as he was he was a tragic kinda guy, he was abused as a kid, never really had a childhood, livedin a fantasy land, hung out with monkeys, acted really creepy towards kids and was a nutbag towards the end.
Along the way he broke the shit out of some musical boundaries and influenced a whole generation of perfomers, and then a generation later his influence went to shit and we got Brittany Spears.
I am sure Will Smith will do a good job when the movie comes out.
BTW, ignorant and asshole are two different things. I may be an asshole who makes a bad joke or two, but ignoront I aint.
Punk rock, Horror movies,Hasbro, and MY SENSE OF HUMOR ruined my life.

Almost every Mod has warned us to quit with the disrespectful posts and yet people are still doing it. I guess the board is going to ignore the Mods......... at least until someone is Banned to prove they are serious!
People if you cant respect Michael Jackson an American Icon at the very least respect our Mods wishes!
If you are not a fan, move on...... Let the rest of us mourn a person who meant something to us at one point of our life.

I think it's amazing how and who this loss has affected, I was surprised to hear about it from my dad first...he called me because Michael Jackson reminded him of the days of me dancing to thriller when I was four years old.
My dad was 23 at the time, Michael was really huge at that time...not to mentioned loved by millions. He leaves us with mixed feelings. I hope he gets the peace he deserves.
