Not sure how many of you guys are wrestling fans. I uised to be hardcore but it is not as interesting as it used to be.
Last night was the Extreme Rules PPV and Batista won the title. However, he has apparently torn his bicep and will be out for surgery AGAIN and is expected to forfeit the title tonight AGAIN! Two weeks ago, Mr. Kennedy returned after a lengthy absence due to injury and was in the 10 man main event. He apparently botched an RKO from Randy "The Tool" Orton and allegedly hurt his wrist. He was fired the next day. Double stadard? Conspiracy? What are we missing here? Batists has had no less than 3 serious, surgery requiring injuries (seems to be one every year) and has already been forced to forfiet the title before. Kennedy has an alleged wrist injury (which he claims is wholly untrue) and was FIRED the next day?? This is one of the reasons my interest has weigned significantly over the years. |

Batista's popularity (right or wrong, earned or unearned, skill level or lack of skill level) > Mr. Kennedy's popularity.

Pro Wrestling is a corrupt business. I speak from experience.

Also, Kennedy was apparently BURIED backstage by several people after the show, including Orton and Big Show, for being sloppy and dangerous to work with. Unfortunately for him, that happened at a time when Vince was already bent about the Denver situation, so he took the brunt of it.
That said, yes, Batista seems every bit as fragile as Kennedy was accused of being. I honestly think he came back way too soon from his last injury and it has wound up costing him again. |

batista is a friend of hhh whereas kennedy wasn't.pure and simple politics.randy orton should have been fired years ago,but the powers that be see just the 3rd generation wrestler.the only reason that he beat benoit was so the wwe could say he was the youngest champion ever.(so they didn't have acknowlege brock lesner)as far as batista goes hes a real prick.

I haven't really followed it since the days of Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant, but since my son is really into it...I watch it because of him.
So when you say the fired Mr. Kennedy is that just part of the soap opera or they literally fired him and no longer wrestles for WWE?

The fact that there is no major competition for WWE is the problem. TNA is garbage. At least when WCW was around, especially at the height of the Monday Night Wars, there were options. Now the options are watch WWE or nothing if you're a wrestling fan.

There isn't anything like that anymore. Without competition things can get stale. Vince's biggest (and his only real major mistake since he's owned WWF/WWE) was in "buying" out his competition. What he should have done was become a silent partner in WCW and kept it going and let them provide the WWF with competition for it's talent and storylines.

There will never be another Wrestling golden age, like when the NWO was starting out(before all the "jobbers" joined up.) I honestly couldnt wait to watch it. Now, I forget it is on most of the time........
