I ride the bus most days and never wear my work shoes. I'm like Mr. Rogers and change once I get to work. I bring a backpack to carry shoes, lunch, whatever. I was seated near the back in a seat which faces the opposite window, not the front of the bus. I was angled towards the front of the bus minding my own business. I had my iPod on and was surfing the mobile interwebz and rang the bell to get off the bus to find my backpack was gone. I don't know how I could be so stupid as to have it stolen from right next to me.
So I freak out on some guy on the bus, asking if he saw it. He did and didn't say anything. People in this city never fucking see anything. He told me where the guy got off the bus, and I was about 10 min away on foot, and 30 min from the start of work. I hoofed it a few blocks, but my fat ass can't run like I used to be able to. I called my buddy to see if we could take a spin to see if I could find it, I only wanted my work shoes. After driving for no more than 5 minutes, he spots a guy wearing a backpack. MY backpack. I get out the truck and tell him to give me my bag, which he does. He apologizes and says he didn't know it was mine. I get back in the truck to find all my stuff is gone. I run to catch up to him and ask where it is, he's really vague about it so I ask for details. He again apologizes and says his friend stole his backpack and he didn't mean to take it. I told him I didn't believe that for a second, but I appreciate him telling me where he dumped my shoes. I can't believe someone would do something so ballsy as that. I mean, more power to him for getting it so easily. I bet he about crapped his pants upon seeing the guy whose backpack he just stole 15 minutes earlier. There is no reason on this earth I should still have my stuff. I can't believe I was so careless and inattentive as to have this happen. I'm very greatful for my buddy and that I was able to get my shoes back. Needless to say, finding Carradine died and this didn't start my day well. Hopefully it'll be a better day tomorrow when I'm off. |

I hate violence. I'm a total flower child deep inside. I was born 30 years too late. My buddy friggin brought a handgun though, he didn't know it was going to be a homeless guy and not some gang banger. I see his point, but completely disagree with it. That's another conversation for another time though, lol.

My house got burglarized on a friday at like 11am while my shared wall 63 year old neighbor was home. This is a townhome, not even an apartment. They kicked the freakin door in. She said she heard the bang but thought I knocked something over. Said she looked out the front window but didn't see a car or anyone. Plus she can't see our door from the window or her front door. I tend to believe her. I think it was someone from across the street.
